«Fabulous cottage in a quiet setting. Airy and light & welcoming. Nice big dining kitchen with (more than!) everything we needed. View from sitting room over the hills was lovely. A great position to trek out from - so near to Cragside National Trust, which is a must! We also visited Wallington & Gibside NT & Holy Island. Thankyou for entrusting us with your home from home - we will definitely be back to explore more of this beautiful area.»

«The house was mostly comfortable but needs some upkeep. The communication with the host was a challenge and they did not reply to most messages (even an acknowledgment of receipt would be okay). One of the showers we could not adjust the temperature, 2 of the showers had mold. One of the biggest challenges was trying to cook as the cookware is very worn and some of it unusable. It would be nice to have a few basic essentials such as salt and pepper and hand soap upon arrival to get things ...

«Perfect situation for dog walking and exploring the local area. Beautiful beaches, pretty villages and an amazing forest complete with river and ancient castle ruins. Friendly pub, village store and tea room in the village. What more could you ask for? We will be back!»

«Stayed fir 3 nights. With 10 adults. Lovley big house. Plently of room Comfortable beds. Some paintwork a.bit.shabby which was a shame. Only down side was it stated a clockroom i thought that.meant a downstairs toilet but it was just a place eto hang coats. This was difficult as some of the party was eldery and found the stairs difficult to navigate, butmon the whole we had a great.time.»

«A gorgeous and very comfortable house for me and my family( me, husband, 2.5 yr old and 5 month old). Great location for the beach and 20 min walk to St. Abbs. We thought we were going to be in the village based on the walking distances stated on the listing however nothing was in walking distance. The area and the village of Kelso are very charming a beautiful.»

«Very pleasant stay. Minor annoyance was strict check on time between 5 and 6 to allow for full clean. Would not class as full clean as bin had dirty tissues in it and cutlery/some kitchen ware needed washing before use»

«Abbey House is the absolute best of the best. Comfortable, clean, homely and with extra touches that make it something else. But the view, the view simply takes your breath away and makes it magical. We were there as a base for our Taylor Swift Era's Tour Adventure in Edinburgh and were so happy with Abbey House that our only complaint is that we had to come home. «We recently stayed at Dovecote House whilst my partner and I were in Alnwick for our wedding. We stayed with our two children (6 and 1) and my parents and it was a fantastic space.
