It was a terrible experience at Akgun Hotel. There is much bad to write about this hotel. Front Office quality related to service and solutions: - They don't speak English. - They have poor eye contact and show extremely little service. While I am talking to them, they are working and do not make eye contact. - They lack honesty. (They said the boss wasn't at work and after a while he was at work) - When I call the Front Office and ask them for a service, they take an extremely long time to perform the service. Housekeeping quality: - They only speak Turkish. Impossible to understand each other. - Every single day I have to repeat my needs in the room. It is extremely bad. - They don't wear gloves when they clean the room. I noticed that they use their hands in the toilet, the garbage and the beds without washing their hands. This is extremely disgusting and transfers a lot of bacteria onto the beds after washing the toilet, for example. I told them to wear gloves. But the worst thing is that they forget it the next day. Then every single day I had to repeat myself and teach them how to wash the room properly. - and much more. Room quality: - Poor air quality. - A lot of dust in the room. - Found dark spots on the walls. - There were yellow and red stains on the duvet. It looked like dried blood and the like that had dried before. - The hair dryer switch was broken. - There were white stains on the sofa. - There were some places on the duvet cover that were torn.

One of the worst hotels we ever used. We had a very bad stay and terrible nights in this look-alike hotel. This is a scam hotel never 5 stars at all. We are a belgian couple and never in our hundreds of trips had such a thing. The rooms are very dirty, noisy, very old with broken window and broken bed. Torn paper paint and humidity on the walls. plus, bed sheets, towels and pillows have stains and dirty. some times even burnt. We changed room during the 6 night-stay. But nothing changed. We got sick of allergy because of dust and dirt. Add to that the staff in the reception are very arogant and are not helpful. Everyone in the bulding want to be tipped if you pass by them. Even the entrance of the hotel is so smelly. Escape from this place

Het personeel van dit hotel maken het tot een weergaloos succes! Wat hebben wij genoten van de fantastische service. In het bijzonder willen wij Derya van de ontbijtzaal en Cellatin van de Rooftop bar bedanken voor hun goede service. Door deze lieve mensen willen wij zeker terugkomen naar het hotel. De ligging van het hotel is ook erg fijn, iets buiten de stadse drukte, maar toch centraal.

It was very bad experience, the service was very disappointing with everything. We stayed there six nights, the staff there didn't changed the bed covers and pillows, the didn't clean up the room even i called the reception and ask about send someone to clean. They did not change the towels on a daily basis.

Average 3 star hotel close to metro
The room was large with very poor night time and bathroom lighting. During the day, the room was light filled and pleasant. Unfortunarely the cleanliness of the room was terrible. It had not been properly cleaned for a very long time. The cheap rug under the bed was so disgusting, i was happy slippers were provided. In my week long stay, my bed sheets were only changed on the fifth day. The kettle had caked on milk which had obviously not been checked. My booking included breakfast which was pleasant with a good selection of food. The hotel was a few minutes walk from the Metro system which is on the airport line. By changing at yusufpasa or arkasay you can jump on the tram line into the historical centre. I only stayed here because they had an outdoor pool which i ended up hardly using. Having stayed in Istanbul many times before, better hotels certainly exist for the same price. The hotel was full and the staff were very friendly and helpful however due to the lack of cleanliness i would not stay here again.

Egal was man gefragt hat wurde nicht erlaubt
Also erstens war W Lan fast ohne Funktion, zweitens Schwimmbad konnte noch nicht benutzt werden,dann fragten wir nach einem Stuhl um im Schwimmbadbereich oder Terassenbereich zu Sonnen, wurde aber abgelehnt und viele ähnliche dinge, im Groben und ganzen haben ich und meine Freundin sich Arbeit gefühlt , wo der Cheff nicht erlaubt hat, somit waren wir eigentlich nicht zu Frieden.

Affordable and almost luxury hotel
The hotel is centrally located just off the metro station and there is a nice city view from the rooms. The rooms are large and comfortable and the bathroom has a large selection of shampoo, lotions etc. The hotel reminds of hotels the 1960s in the West: golden colors, chandeliers and thick carpets. The breakfast buffet has a large selection of breads, cheeses, egg dishes, jams, etc. but many of the products seemed industrially made and were not freshly prepared, for example. croissants that were dry and cheeses that looked like they had already spent a morning in the buffet. A few criticisms are bedbugs in bed (I received about 20 bids) and few channels with English text or speech.

A place to stay in İstanbul
The hotel is walking distance to metro station. The rooms are new and big. The breakfast offers many varities to choose from. The staff is well educated and willing to help you the best they can.

Meget dorligt internet forbindelser jeg har haft et gest på besøg men må ikke være på verælset hvis gesten skulle være på verælse krever hotrlet 80 dk selvom der er et par minuter

Hotel with great breakfast
The heating system was on and we visited in April. It was too warm. We complained many times, but they said air conditioning would not be turned on yet. They said open the window. Hotel is situated on main dual carriageway so it was very noisy even at night. Pool was out of order. This made our trip to Istanbul a bit of a disappointment because we did not get the comfort and rest we needed to enjoy our excursions. The breakfast was terrific.

The staff was real good, and really nice. Elif was the best and agile receptionist. Eyup was also real good staff.

Akgun Istanbul woes
When I arrived there was a group checking in, all staff were dedicating themselves to serving the group and disregarded myself. Then while checking in the agen would only conversate about MY booking with my colleague and at no point spoke to me directly about the booking I had made and I had paid for. Throughout the stay the room was never properly cleaned and at one point not cleaned at all despite leaving the sign out. The door usually got stuck and wouldn't lock or open properly.
