Idyllic house with spacious garden next to canal, boat rent is possible (extra)

According to our guests: "Lovely clean luxurious house perfectly located on the water. Despite the many tourists, a quiet location with a lovely spacious garden and lots of privacy. Very cozy inside, everything is available. Comfortable beds. Nice new bathroom with underfloor heating and rain shower. We highly recommend to also rent the boat and the SUPboard."

Bedsheets, towels, Wi-Fi, a BBQ, 2 bicycles with panniers, and 2 life jackets for children (3-6 yo) are all available for use FREE of charge.

This pleasant cozy cottage is located next to a water canal on a spacious plot of 400 m² and offers a lot of privacy. It is always a delight to stay here! Listen to the many birds chirping and watch the ducks and boats pass by while you are relaxing in the lovely large garden or the cozy living room. You can also rent our boat and/or SUP board if you wish. You can sail to the nearby lakes "Bovenwijde," "Beulakerwijde" and "Belterwijde," and the beautiful nature reserves of the National Park "Weerribben" and "De Wieden". You can also swim in e.g. the Bovenwijde with the cozy "swimming island." The water is shallow (hip height) and nice and warm.

The lovely towns of Meppel and Steenwijk and the woods of Havelte with its unique Dolmens (in Dutch: "Hunebedden)" are within cycling distance. You can also take a lovely walk along the cozy houses and canals to the many cozy restaurants and cafes, where you can also enjoy the beautiful view from their terraces. The authentic village of Giethoorn is the "Venice of the North". The characteristic bridges, village canals, beautiful farms and tiny houses with thatched roofs determine the village image. The cottage is located a short 200 meter away from the free P6 car park. There is a hand truck available for transporting your luggage, since you can't park directly next to the cottage. There is a busstop at a short 500 meter distance.

Ground floor:
-Bathroom (completely renovated in 2022) with underfloor heating, rain shower, bathroom furniture and toilet.
-Open kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer, 4-ring ceramic hob, microwave oven, kettle, coffee machine, Senseo coffee machine, sandwich iron, toaster, and dining table with 4 chairs (and 2 folding chairs).
-Cozy spacious living room with lots of natural light, second door to the back garden, sofa, 3 easy chairs, toys, games, books, radio, television, DVD player, DVDs and a beautiful view over the canals and the meadows.
-1 bedroom with 2 single beds.
-Lovely large garden around the house located on a canal with lots of greenery, a covered canopy/terrace with keylogger, a BBQ, a garden table, 7 garden chairs, 2 sunbeds, and a private dock with our own boat and SUP board that you can also rent if you want.
