Upon arrival there was no one behind the locked bulletproof glass cage, but there were three people already waiting. Another customer called the posted number and someone came out to the cage from within. Then we were told that a fifty dollar cash deposit was required, BUT, their ATM WAS NOT FUNCTIONING so we had to hike down the street to find one as they wouldn’t wave the fee or take a credit card! When I returnd one third of the parking strip was overrun with police cars and there was only one open spot. 20 minutes later I got into a room on the second floor with no elevator and dragged my pack and suitcase up a flight of spongy stairs.
The room was ancient the “stick on” tiles throughout the room had shrunk over the decades and were separated at the seams indiscriminately. The TV didn’t work, one lamp’s lamp didn’t work but the outlet in the base did work and the other lamp worked but its outlet didn’t. In the morning, trying get out at around 8:30 am there was no one in the cage. Banging on the door got nowhere. Calling got me recording saying I was first in line. When answered I asked where the heck the clerk was? He said “I’m at the other location!” I said “ I’m in the hole fifty dollars and I have to catch a plane!” He said I’ll be there in 3 minutes. 5 minutes later an elderly gent with a Brit accent showed up, returned my 50, and when I told him of the deficiencies he said: “You should have called, I’d have sent someone right up to repair it”. Right.
