Whilst this place looks nice from the outset, the rooms clearly need updating. I was shocked by the exposed wires, dust and unclean room given at check in - room 107 I think it was on the ground floor next to the reception. I requested I cannot stay in this room which made me cough and sneeze and was thankfully shifted to the Yoga Hall block where the new modern rooms were. Atleast better standard of room, but again, lack of basics was diappointing, locker safe was not even operational, no water bottles in the room, bathroom had a leak, foul smell, so I used towels arond the sink basin to soak up the leak I discovered. The finishing touches to this room is required. Atleast the heating was working. I would have expected better quality amenities in the bathroom for the price I paid for this stay, for example: shampoo and condition is now a basic for most hotels around the world regardless of star rating. This hotel boasts its wellness and seems to make it's money on the massage treatments, but very little attention given to anything else. However, caveat, it's impossible to pre-book a massage as I tried to and then had to argue my way daily to get an appointment, which is limited and exclusive preference given to those who are seen by the wellness doctor programme. Also, requests are slow and it took me 45 minutes to get fresh towels. Pool are was fabulous, and the breakfast staff are efficient, pleasant and food service was one of the highlights. A lovely team working there.
