«Aside from a member of staff called Kane who was exceptionally helpful, our experience for a birthday break was beyond disappointing. We initially stayed at the sister property The Swan in Tarporley where staff were outstanding but at The Lion we were greeted in what can only be described as very patronising, unwelcoming and brusque, by who we understand to be Beth. We were shown to a room that was classed as executive but had clearly had a major leak in the bathroom as paint was peeling away ...

«Just needs to be better signage directing people where to go to check in. Other than that it was a great experience.»

«What a lucky find. Situated in a beautiful area of the Welsh countryside. Stayed overnight weather was awful but the property was cosy and kept to a very high standard. Breakfast was freshly made & very tasty. A big thank you to the hosts Heather & Neil who made us feel welcome. Will definitely be returning. Julie & John.»

«Beautiful room the brilliant evening meal and breakfast»

«we were here for a overnight stay, Service was great, didnt have time to try the food, the room was ok, could need some paint and the windows needs replacing. the room was somewhat clean, the couch contained enough dust to fog out a small town but other than that good value for money. If I'm going to the area again I would probably retur to this hotel.»

«We stayed in this glorious hotel overnight as a family of three plus our dog. We had the most wonderfully warm welcome upon our arrival and this was further enhanced by the rustic charm that this lovely hotel exuded by way of its decor. We adore a vintage aesthetic so its appearance resonated with us immediately. Richard and his wife were fabulous hosts and the continental breakfast that they served to us this morning was very impressive .. warm croissants, toast, cereal and an array of fresh ...

«There was an issue at check in regarding our family room whereby the expedia booking info hadn't pulled through correctly to the hotel. I would recommend emailing the hotel after booking to reconfirm everything. The family room was a decent size, although towels were stained and the free mini's were half used. The pool facilities were lovely. The pool was a little chilly, but jacuzzi very nice and warm.»

«Veldig hyggelig, intimt og rimelig sted en liten kjøretur fra Chester sentrum som er verdt å besøke. Koselig at man har bar og restaurant i samme bygg. Fikk en hyggelig samtale med svært trivelige naboer som kom inn for å feire avslutning på campingsesongen. Koselig besetning og vakkert rom. Anbefalest varmt. »

«The cat was a welcome bonus. The food was good.»

«We stayed in family room with multiple beds. Room size good and still room for kids to play even with a cot added. Room showing some signs of age and not all beds comfortable Breakfast good and all staff friendly»

«Langt unna alt og ikke spesielt rent eller pent hotell. Frokost var heller ikke god.»

«Dårlig renhold, utdatert ifh til EU standar, dårlig mat.. bodde her 5 dager, ikke en gang ble det vasket, byttet sentøy, eller støvsugd.»

«Lovely setting, with a variety of ways to stay.»

«Veldig fornøyd med beliggenhet, rom og frokost! »
