The room, whilst adequate for sleeping in, was tired and dated, decor was old and run down. We were there for 2 days and paid an extra for an upgrade to the privilege room, which meant bath robes, slippers, coffee machine with 4 pods, a tin of fanta and pepsi and 2x 2 finger kit kats 2 bottles of water. Drinks used up on first day along with kit kats but didnt get replaced for second day, room wasn't even serviced on the Sunday so I was miffed at paying for upgrade for two days as it was a waste of money. Staff were friendly and attentive although noticably absent when I was trying to check out on Monday morning. There is an over reliance on powerful air freshners the sort used in old peoples homes to mask bad smells, these repugnant air freshners catch your breath and could be an issue if you have a breathing illness. Corrugated paneling lining the corridor walls, bouncing, creeky first floors and corridors that thunder as you walk to your room are an issue when trying to get to sleep.
But as this was not an expensive hotel, and it has a swimming pool, sauna and steam room you take the rough with the smooth and accept the poor decor and noisy floors as overall it does what it says on the tin. We had an enjoyable break at this hotel, it didn't break the bank and was conveniently located.
