Today a district of bon vivants and antique dealers, historically Les Chartrons was the district of wine merchants.
Traditionally, life in the neighborhood is organized around Place des Chartrons (10 minutes from the apartment) which offers bars and restaurants and a small covered market. But also Rue Notre Dame (5 minutes from the apartment) where you will find second-hand dealers and independent designer boutiques. Without forgetting the legendary Chartrons market on the quays (in front of the apartment) every Sunday until 3:30 p.m. It's the perfect place for an outdoor lunch.
Since the major Chartrons renovation project, two new spaces of interest have attracted Bordeaux residents: the brands' quays for shopping and the Bacalan halls, which is a fabulous covered market opposite La Cité du Vin.
