This stay was a surprise birthday stay for my partner. The room was in good condition, and the staff were pleasant, but poor communication and unexpected charges after checkout negatively impacted the experience. Our travel delay caused us to miss the first night. After multiple calls, a staff member noted our late arrival. Another delay occurred, and we checked in the early next day. I only learned of a $340+ charge for the missed night after checkout, from the manager. Communication issues persisted; ordering breakfast required several calls, and restaurant transfers went unanswered 2x. Despite kind staff, the process felt disorganized. A breakfast charge was discounted, leaving a lower balance. Before checkout, I was told my bill was clear, but later received a bill over $500, including parking and daily fees not clearly explained. Parking fees at check-in didn’t match my bill. The manager deducted part of the parking charge and noted the first bill was just for food, which I’ve never heard that after checking out I assumed everything would be on 1 bill. I understand limited staffing and respect the manager’s absence, but his absence shouldn’t halt communication. Eventually, the manager was pleasant, professional, and refunded the nightly room charge, the $340+ missed-night fee, and part of the parking. Overall, this experience was frustrating at times and financially stressful. Clearer communication, transparent billing, and better operational coverage are greatly needed.
