My cousins took us out on Rainy Lake. Many of the small islands still contain remnants of gold mines from the late 1800s and early 1900s started by some of the first fur trappers in the area.
Went on a tour of Rainy Lake with the International Falls tourism board. It was stormy and threatening to rain in the early morning, and then the sky let loose on our way back to the dock.
