«Great location and only a short walk to the centre. The added homemade shortbread biscuits in the room was a lovely treat. You can really see how much love has gone into this property and how much they care for their guests with how helpful and attentive they are. The cooked breakfast was delicious as well as the homemade butter and croissants! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit York. »

«Catherine, the owner, was the perfect hostess with nothing being too much trouble. She even texted to make sure everything was OK and to ensure she was about when I arrived. The room was clean and well provisioned. Breakfast was a full English and cooked fresh. There was also a selection of cereals and fruits. The village is about a mile away and has a convenience store, pub and Indian restaurant.»

«Absolutely wonderful stay from start to finish Staff so helpful & kind . The food was really good in the restaurant and a reasonable price. The morning breakfast was very good a nice change from a traditional breakfast lots of choices very yummy. The bedroom was very clean the bedding was very good quality. «Lovely place to stay. Great hosts, really friendly and very helpful. Fernleigh is on a nice quiet street. A couple of good pubs just round the corner. The owners even mòved their car so we could tuck our motorbike on the drive. Would recommend without question. Oh,and a first class breakfast with proper tea!»

«Rebecca the owner is a very polite helpful and caring lady! If you have any questions just ask! the property is very clean and tidy and non smoking! Our bedroom was excellent with a great double bed with a beautiful shower and bathroom! and tea making facilities in the room the breakfast was outstanding she certainly takes care of her guests highly recommended!!»

«Warm welcome received by host. Very friendly. Parking to rear of hotel bit of a squeeze as was busy but not a big issue. Room on top floor was quirky with comfortable bed and leather sofa. Quiet and spotlessly clean with a fridge whi h came in handy and even a microwave hidden away. Full breakfast was piping hot and plenty enough. The fruit plate was a little sparse to be fair but it was exactly what it says on the tin...a plate with fruit so no complaints. Great location in a quiet area but ...

«Good location close to the Minster. Room was on the main road side of the building, but we'll sound proofed. Some noise from the bar, but this is expected in a pub. Problem with loss of hot water pressure on the final morning was irritating, but these things happen. Clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on the food. »

«Beautiful B&B, great hosts. Really close to the seafront and a fantastic breakfast. I’ve always stayed on the front with sea views, but would recommend this place as an alternative any day. They also have their own private car park »

«Lite "familiehotell" med 7 rom. Her går de "all in" for at gjestene skal ha det bra, med f eks bursdagssang til frokost om de finner ut at en gjest har det. 5-7 minutter til sentrum på bena. Hotellet anbefales ikke til de som er avhengig av heis, for det er et 4 etasjers koselig gammelt murhus, med 7 rom:)»

Staff work cheerfully under the friendly manager dubbed the Queen Bee. Breakfast includes the traditional Those who have trouble with stairs should book the ground floor, those who can manage stairs be prepared for the narrow staircases and light sensors. They only come on only when you’re directly in the range of detection. »

«The location is fabulous, the apartment is fantastic and amenities great. The beds were not great, very uncomfortable. They advertise luggage storage and before we checked in they stored our luggage and then took it to our room when the room was ready, that was awesome, but when we asked for luggage storage on our check out we were told we would have to pay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.»
