  • **34 Coney Street -  a brand new holiday let development of the highest quality right in the city centre**

    Coney Street, York's premier shopping street was home to some colourful characters down the ages. In 1150, the main street in York, was called Cuningstrete, the King's Street. It ran from Ousegate right to the Museum Gardens. By the 18th century it was the site of the seat of government in the city, with the Guildhall and the Mansion House in pride of place. But it was in the 19th century that it became a shopping centre par excellence, with high class fashion establishments, costumiers, furriers, milliners, linen drapers, pianoforte warehouse, bookshops and jewellers, as well as the home of York's first department store, Leak and Thorp which opened in 1869.

    Entering the apartment situated on the second floor you are led down the corridor covered in a beautiful elongated scallop patterned wallpaper, derived from an original lino print by Anna Hayman, immediately setting the tone for this stunning town centre apartment. The open plan living room featuring ‘The Machinist Wallpaper' by Mind the Gap provides the perfect oasis of calm after a day out in York. Snuggle up and take the chance to catch up on the day or just to watch your favourite movie, either way, your time is your own once you are in the stunning apartment. Ther room is complete with a coffee machine for your convenience.

    The sumptuous bedroom has a big bed to snuggle down into and a luxurious en suite complete with luxury walk in shower and under floor heating. The perfect place to ensure that you look your best before stepping out of the front door and beginning your fun filled trip to York - whether here to indulge yourself in some of the fabulous places to eat, exploring the history of York, or a weekend of glamour at the world famous York Races - you can bet that you have picked the perfect spot.

Beautiful!

Me and my boyfriend absolutely loved staying here!! It was so beautiful and in a PERFECT location. My only thing on comfort would be that the fan provided didn’t do anything to cool us down as it was hot when we were there and there’s no windows or AC.

Beautiful and quiet

We had a lovely stay, stays york made everything so easy with the welcome guide, from parking to where to eat so we could plan in advance. Not only was the room stunning and we had the best nights sleep, the entire trip was totally stress free thanks to the little details left for the guests. We couldn't hear a single noise from the street below and had the bed was super comfy

Who needs hotels

Absolutely loved this apartment, perfect location for the bars and resteraunts, no taxis required. Beautifully decorated and the most comfortable bed that I have slept in. One minor critique was lip stick on one of the champagne flutes from a previous guest but apart from that, would certainly stay again.

Very good if you don't mind spending the little extra

One of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in along with fantastic facilities and an excellent location. It would have been 5 but for me personally the price was a little high but it was worth it due to the nature of my stay and the weekend I stopped. if your looking for a place to stay for a special occasion its well worth it but if you need a quick place to stay maybe look for something a little cheaper.

Amazing last minute stay in York

The drapers is decorated to the highest standard, it has the wow factor when you walk in. The free standing bath is amazing. My only tiny problem was the light inside the first door kept turning on during the night which made it difficult to get a full nights sleep. The customer service was excellent, i received a text to tell me the apartment was ready early which was perfect for me. Check in was easy using the digital locks and no issues what so ever. However we are looking at rebooking in a few weeks and may try one of the other apartments! Thanks so much guys.

Good but needs a few improvements

Great location and apartment. Love the features of the place however all the high level surfaces and fixtures etc need a good clean! The ledge above the bathroom area is thick in dust as where other general areas. The main thing that let this place down is the front door off the street! There is a clear sign on the door that says do not lock it. We went for a meal with friends came back at about midnight and lo and behold the front door was locked by another guest we assume! We tried the emergency contact number in the welcome pack twice but nobody answered. At this point it was very cold and rainy and we were left with no other option but to try and call other apartments. Thankfully another guest answered and let us in but we had woke him up in doing this! This really needs addressing with a better access control device on the front door or at least more attentive responses to the emergency out of hours phone. A guest shouldn’t be expected to stand outside in the cold and rain or be woken up to let other guests in!

A Great Stay

Had a lovely stay in the Centre of York . My Wife loved the room with the Bath & floral decorations! The Room was very clean. As expected a little noisy on the saturday night, being right in the middle of the High st. Easy to check in with keysafe. Only things to be aware of is ,there is parking recommended beforehand, however we were not told that we had to pre book parking, which meant we were trying to find a parking space forever & were losing the Will !! A couple of minor things were the water in the bathroom sink was absolutely scalding hot ! & only a couple of very small sachets of milk for hot drinks ( which wasn't enough) , tea & coffee bags provided as well as a coffee machine with pods ( which we didn't use) There isn't a view on this apartment , only of the High st shops. Overall would recommend.
