«We plannes to stay in NY for 11 days. Manhattan was expensive. The apartment in Bedstuy looked fine, but we had heard that the area was "sketchy" (lonely planet). Stay away from Bedstauy! said a New-yorker. Don't used the Subway in the evenings! I was a bit sceptical, but now we have tried Bedstuy and "La maison des sirene". We felt safe all the time. «The location was great however the description of the rental unit was off a bit. It looks like the description has been updated recrntly so it seems like it will be good for future stays. «Dr C (Cynthia) was an amazing hostess to us from beginning to end. Her place was nice and cozy, and very clean. There were nice touches throughout to make you feel at home, and she also greeted us with a welcome basket of treats. «We booked our stay here two days before checking in. On the day of we had not heard from the host. After multiple attempts to contact them, via app and phone call, it wasn’t until 45 minutes after we were supposed to check in that our reservation was cancelled due to having been double booked on another platform. Very disappointing as it left us scrambling to find somewhere else to stay. The area was nice and walkable, but a disappointing turn of events.»
