Boatswains Cottage is a charming 19th-century weatherboard fisherman's cottage, located just a few steps from the beach on Whitstable's highly sought-after Island Wall. Boasting a full range of modern conveniences and situated just moments from the beach and tennis courts, this stylish property offers the perfect seaside getaway in Whitstable.

The renowned Neptune pub is also situated along this stretch of beach, perfect for a cold, refreshing drink on a sunny day or after a leisurely walk along Whitstable's promenade. Just opposite, on this peaceful road, you'll find a charming local store and café serving delicious breakfasts and lunches. Whitstable's charming town centre, offering a delightful selection of eateries and boutiques, is conveniently located just at the end of the road.

This characterful wood-framed cottage, once used by the coastguard, comfortably accommodates four guests across three floors and still boasts its original features. The house offers a beautifully understated style, creating a welcoming home-from-home atmosphere. The quaint open-plan ground floor space offers a sitting features a wood-burning stove, a flat-screen TV, and a DVD player, seamlessly leading into a well-equipped kitchen and dining area complete with a microwave, refrigerator, washer-dryer, dishwasher, coffee machine, a five-ring gas hob, and an electric double oven. A doorway opens to a well-established, wild sunny courtyard garden featuring a decked seating area, the perfect spot for enjoying your first morning coffee in Whitstable.
The family bathroom, on the first floor, equipped with a toilet, basin, roll top bath, and handheld shower, leading to the balcony area which offers fantastic views of the sunny garden. Opposite the family bathroom, you'll find the master bedroom, featuring a king-size bed and ample wardrobe space. Ascending the second staircase, you'll discover the charming twin bedroom nestled in the eaves.
NOTE: The cottage may be unsuitable for younger children and toddlers in respect to the steep stairs up to the attic twin bedroom where there is no door at the top. Also due to the balcony area off the bathroom children must be supervised at all times.
NOTE: The stairs in the cottage are quite steep.
Free street parking is available on Nelson Road and Cornwallis Circle, which is just off Island Wall; however, there are double yellow lines directly outside the property, meaning parking is not permitted there.Convenient free one-hour parking spaces are available on Island Wall, making it ideal for unloading your car upon arrival. The nearest paid parking is Keams Yard car park. Whitstable Train Station, on Railway Avenue, is the cheapest car park if you don’t mind a 10 minute walk. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.

There are frequent buses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
There are also Taxi services available for short fares or airport runs. The nearest airport is in London and the Ferry port is in Dover.
