Trusham Quarry. There is a dolerite quarry here - well hidden by the trees. It has won awards for sensitive landscaping. The Teign river flows through the valley.

Valley near Trusham Trees along a field boundary running down the foot of a valley between Trusham and the Teign. Manor Farm, on the far side of the actual main Trusham valley, is in SX8482.

Trusham Church viewed from the churchyard next to the village hall. The church of St. Michael, erected in 1259 and the aisle added in 1430, is an ancient building of stone in the Early English and Perpendicular styles with traces of Norman work. . . . the church was thoroughly restored in 1865.

Check in was easy, good communications with host. Well equipped, comfortable and spacious apartment with a great view of the bay. Good value for money, especially in the off season. A car is a must as the roads are very, very steep.

Newton Abbot

Former station at Christow, 1984. View SE in the Teign Valley, towards Heathfield: Exeter - Heathfield (- Newton Abbot) line. Yet another station converted to a private house, Christow station had been closed from 9/6/58 along with the line from Exeter. However, goods traffic continued from the Heathfield end until later severe flood damage eventually led to closure from 1/5/61 as far as Trusham although the last section to Heathfield remained in use until 1/7/68.
