«I stayed in the Kava bungalow which I thought was excellent. That said, the stairs to the loft where the main bed is are small and steep so something to keep in mind if you need to try to make it down to use the bathroom and back up in the dead of night. «This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. «Overall, I thought it was nice and comfortable. Google maps originally took me to the wrong place, but we got it sorted out. They seem to have a fair number of animals - besides a couple of dogs and a cat, I definitely heard a rooster as well. So it could be a little disruptive overnight when you're trying to sleep if you're not used to that sort of thing.»

«Overall, it was a nice place for our one night stay. Room was nice and cold, but the common areas were hot and muggy which wasn’t ideal to hang around in all day waiting for a flight. The only other area to nitpick was the bathroom in the rooms: small space and door makes maneuvering a hassle. However, close to restaurants, airport and the market.»

«Rommet vi hadde bestilt viste seg å være mot veien: forferdelig bilstøy fra kl 02:30 til kl 23:00. Vi fikk et nytt (mot et par hundre i vederlag) og mye roligere, men med store vinduer mot syd (dvs stekende sol) og et airkonditionsystem som blåste stiv kuling mot sengen (hele natten). «We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Arihau Vairoo. The room was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and took care of us as though we were family. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. All the food was prepared by our host from local ingredients mostly grown in their own garden. All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful.»

«The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well.
