The amenities for the price are great. It is all dated and the beds aren’t the comfiest but the value for money is great as they have a really well equipped gym and a decent sized pool which you cannot get for this price elsewhere. Interactions with staff were all great, helpful and polite.

Parking was plentiful and very accessible, the room was clean and comfortable. The bar/restaurant was peaceful, comfortable and had a nice view over the golf course. Henson the barman was extremely helpful and looked after us really well without being imposing. The food was excellent both evening and breakfast. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

There were lots of negative reviews about this hotel, yes it is having some work done but the reviews I read said never stay here. This is very harsh, the hotel was clean, the pool was nice and will be better when the work is finished. Staff were helpful, the room was nice and the grounds were nice

Convenient for parking but general state of property was poor. In need of some updating. Carpets were grubby everywhere and our room was very hot though they did provide a fan. Unfortunately we were bitten by mosquitoes in the room. The bar was only opened for limited hours. We did not eat in the restaurant though a fellow guest said to us his experience was not good. Poor quality food and bad service.

Staff were nice. Bottled water at the bar was very expensive, more than airports. There were mosquitoes in our room since we opened the window due to heat but once we asked the staff for a solution they offered to switch our room in the middle of the night so that we could sleep. The hotel is old but everything else was very good. Especially for that price it was excellent.

Staff ok for what they had to work with, but I decided the hotel was not fit for purpose as a country retreat for the cost, with internal building work, no comfy outside space to enjoy a drink or the warm day/evening. I decided NOT to check in and had to find alternative accommodation - waiting for a refund.

Rooms need more plug sockets. Fans need to be provides in hot weather(ones the are more the £10) they need to spray to control the mosquitos and more staff as waited over 20 mins for a drink in the bar.

Paid just under £200 for 2 nights accommodation. The room was of poor standard and not very well cleaned or maintained. Stains on the carpet, the tiles in the bathroom are cracked so made it unsafe to walk bare foot. The shower wasnt very warm and the spray went everywhere but me. The sink had a hole and cracks in it.

The cleanliness needs to be sorted - There was dust everywhere, the facilities like the bathroom had cracked tiles on the floor. The bath seal was filthy, a burn in the sink, generally grubby No air con on a hot day but a fan was provided. No sockets by the bed so all of the electric was on the other side of the room. It generally needs a really good clean Staff were great, very responsive and doing what they can in a tired building

Very hotel in some deeper and in much need of updating albeit some work was happening as floors were up but nothing warned of or briefed Room was basic, tv did not work, staff knew but declined to mention it or offer any fix or assistance. Complaints department details requested on check out and was told ‘someone would be jn touch’. They haven’t. Still. Pretty disappointing in all.

Very friendly staff, easy to check in and add car onto the parking. Big spacious room and a lovely restaurant. I ate both dinner and breakfast here and the food was very reasonably priced and tasted fantastic. Great variety at breakfast in the morning, and a nice view outside. Loved the decor Used the pool and sauna - hot tub not in use sadly, and the changing rooms seem to be undergoing a refurb, so just be aware, AND take a towel down with you (I assumed a towel would be available to pick up but I was wrong! Thank goodness for drying out in the sauna!) . The toilets in the changing rooms themselves were all locked and the ones in use were across a corridor, just to consider if you need to nip across at any point and you are wet/in a swimsuit! Easy to find, quiet, peaceful, great location and the staff could not do enough for you Would absolutely stay here again now I know it's here and it's a bargain price to book

Very dirty hotel – nothing like the pictures I have never been so disappointed with a hotel. The pictures on Expedia look nothing like the hotel we arrived at. The whole place was dirty, smelled terrible and looked very run-down. I honestly cannot understand how this is advertised as a three-star hotel. The hotel was previously used to accommodate asylum seekers, but from what I saw, it looked as though it had never been properly renovated after they left. The walls were dirty, scratched and covered in marks. Everything looked neglected, and the smell was awful. We had four rooms in total, and they were all in a similar condition. In my children’s room, there were lots of dead insects on the walls and other surfaces. When I lifted the mattress, I found insects underneath it. I reported this to reception, and the manager came to the room. I lifted the mattress in front of the manager and showed them what I had found. We were then given another room for the children. My third room was no better. The bathroom door was so swollen from water damage that it could not even be closed properly. The swimming pool area and changing rooms were also extremely dirty. There were wooden boards lying around, the floors were filthy, and the facilities were in a terrible state. I even had to use my room key card to remove rubbish from a locker. We pay for our holidays and expect clean rooms and basic hygiene. Instead, we were faced with dirt, a horrible smell, damaged furniture and insects
