Booked in early January, some hours later, on the same day, messaged hotel asking for a cancellation, because I realised that possibly I wouldn't be able to make these dates or even the city due to personal circumstances. Even with more than one month in advance, the hotel refused to cancel and refund the booking;
We were a big group, booked 3 different rooms; we paid different £ for the rooms, but got exactly the same room size/ layout and facilities.
We could feel a smell of old and musty around the premisses hallways/corridors/bedrooms. Old furniture and decoration all around the hotel. Hallway to gym and spa requires updating.
Were travelling with children, choose this hotel because of the pool and spa facilities; however we could not use this during the entire stay. We were told the "pool is not working due to elevated chlorine levels". An online search demonstrated that there are quick solutions for this issue eg. emptying the pool and filling it up with clean water; or adding a neutralising solution. We checked in on Friday around 3pm and checked out on Sunday 11am. But it seemed that there was no sense of URGENCY to fix this issue; plus we were not informed about it previously to make appropriate arrangements.
Breakfast: very few options available; hard/sour fruits; served uncooked egg and old burnt bacon.
Few restaurant options around. But close to Safari park. Staff were generally polite.
Overall overly priced for what was on offer.
