Badger’s Den Cottage

Beautiful! Clean, bright, equipped with everything you could need, very secure, we have a dog, a beautiful vase of fresh flowers from their garden and a very nice welcome pack, especially the decadent chocolate cake! Across the road was an ideal open space to walk Fraser and all the nearby towns easy to get to, ie Rye, Hastings and Battle to name a few. It’s a lovely area to explore and the cottage a wonderful find, thank you

Enchanting Badger cottage

We had the most wonderful weekend at this lovely place. The cottage has everything you need with lovely outdoor areas to relax and watch the wildlife. Chris and Erick were great hosts who were very welcoming. Chocolate cake,fruit bowl,biscuits and milk were a lovely touch as an arrival package. What can i say about the grounds STUNNING! The pool and jacuzzi was perfect after a long day treading around historical sites for our little girl. Super relaxing stay. We will be back.

Simply Amazing

I had such an amazing time at this little gem of a cottage! My friends and I were blown away by how wonderful it was. It truly had everything we needed and felt just like home. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and Eric, the host, was incredibly attentive to our needs. Nothing was too much trouble for him. One of the things I loved the most was how welcoming they were to our dogs. It was such a relief to feel comfortable and have our furry friends roam around freely. The location was perfect too, with lots of beautiful walks nearby and Camber Sands only a 30-minute drive away. The facilities at the cottage were top-notch, including a swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, and an outdoor hot tub with stunning garden views. I'm already making plans to go back with my family because I simply cannot recommend this place highly enough. Eric truly thought of everything, and I'm so grateful for such an amazing experience.

Gem of a place

Booking process and communication with property manager was 1st Class! Check in process was easy and simple. Hosts Erick & Chris were on site 24/7 but never intrusive. Property is in a fabulous location with immaculate facilities. Thanks Erick & Chris for a wonderful and memorable stay.

A wonderful stay in Covehurst Bay

We had a lovely stay at the absolute gem that is Badgers Den, the cottage is immaculate with lots of thought gone into decor and everything you could need. Chris & Eric are welcoming & helpful hosts. The pool and hot tub are wonderful for relaxing after days out. We did the walk down to Covehurst Bay and into Hastings sea front, both great and drove out to Petts Level beach, quiet and also nice. So enjoyed our break & hope to be back :)

What a property gem, our best UK holiday by far.

The owners could not be nicer, so welcoming and helpful. The property is fabulous and the facilities are just unique (pool, steam, hot tub). Erik and Chris are clearly devoted to ensuring guests have a unique stay, the property is just delightful as is the location. We will definitely be back.

Lovely winter break

We had a wonderful stay at Badger's Den. The booking process was quick and communication with Chris was clear and helpful. Erick welcomed us on arrival, gave us a tour of the grounds and gave us a useful map of the area with walks etc. The accommodation had everything we needed and our cat enjoyed having his private outdoor area to explore. We loved the pool and hot tub and enjoyed the lovely walks in the surrounding nature reserve with stunning views of the sea. We also enjoyed day trips to nearby Rye and Bodiam Castle. All in all a lovely break and we'll be returning next year.

Perfection

I have never been so happy with a holiday let in my life! 2 young adults & primary school aged child, stayed for 1 week. Very lucky with the weather, gorgeous sun and warmth with the sea breeze to take the edge off. Cottage was perfectly appointed with everything we could need, everything of high quality and impeccable taste. Loved the private outdoor space, sink & washing machine in conservie very practical. Hosts were generous with consumables - cooking oil, seasoning, washing up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher tabs all provided, as we’re welcome snacks and a fantastic fruit bowl. I’ve waiting for us in the freezer and milk in the fridge. Hosts were also friendly and attentive to our needs without ever being invasive of our privacy, they really struck the perfect balance. Pool is MAGICAL, somehow always the perfect temperature, not overly chlorinated. We spent our happiest holiday moments laughing together there, usually just us. Garden spaces are spectacular, beautifully landscaped with multiple cleverly laid out “rooms”, so the multiple property guests can all use the space with privacy if desired. Really couldn’t fault it in any way and I am currently making the case for booking again for next year and bringing the in-laws too. Thank you so much for facilitating a much needed and truly appreciated perfect holiday.

Perfect location

Staying in Badgers Den Cottage was delightful. The property is finished to a high standard and well equipped. The owner has thought of everything you could need. The location is quiet and peaceful, the pool, hut tub and steam room are lovely. And the gardens…..wow! We stayed very local, walking from the cottage lots. Trips in to Hastings and Camber and saw seals at Pett Level beach. Thank you.

We had the most amazing time staying at badgers den Chris and Rick are so lovely they really do go above and beyond to make everyone’s stays special the spar is amazing and badgers den cottage is so clean warm and cosy Chris and Rick think of everything so there’s lots of lovely little surprises in the cottage I can honestly say it’s the nicest place we have ever stayed we had the best time ever and we will defiantly be booking to go again it’s my new happy place lol

Perfect Little Gem

What a fantastic place. On arrival we were greeted by Chris with a personalised information sheet, which he took the time to talk us through - where to walk, shop, visit etc. He then took us on walk round to show us the spa, BBQs & gardens. In the cottage itself, it was the attention to detail that grabbed us. Fresh flowers on the table, fruit basket, tea coffee sugar & milk, and a most welcome cake and crisps. We have dogs, and always take throws for the sofas, but all the sofas and cushions were already covered in washable throws. The cottage was warm and cosy and the heating easy to control. The beds are super comfy too. The kitchen was very well equipped with not just the usual pots and pans but baking trays, serving dishes, and small details such as a cheese grater, cling film, tin foil, picnic cutlery & plates, snap lid storage boxes etc. There was even washing powder for you to use if you needed to make use of the washing machine. Nothing was overlooked - even a sewing kit should you lose a button! We were very lucky with the weather but the sunlounge was still lovely to sit in in the morning and early evenings, and the fenced decking and garden area meant that our small dogs could wander in and out safely. Now we come to one of the main reasons we booked -Do you have a heated indoor pool? This pool was by far the best we've come across. With a depth of 1.5m you can swim easily, and we even made use of some of the fun inflatables that are provided. What was really exceptional was the fact that you can access the spa area 24/7. The pool does get covered at around 8pm but you can use the pool any time as long as you replace the cover afterwards (really easy to do just slowly pull the rope!). This meant that several evening we actually went into the pool after dinner. And lets not forget the hot tub just outside the pool! What a treat! We were even able to take a drink down for a decadent late evening session in the tub using the plastic glasses provided at the cottage! The gym was very well equipped too. The gardens are just beautiful, with so many areas to sit, water features etc. And the flowers both outdoors and inside are quite outstanding. And you would hardly know there was anyone else staying. I've not even got the space to mentions the surrounding area - walks, old town, parks etc! We mostly choose somewhere different each year, but for sure we would go back, that's how perfect Badger's Den was for us.

Lovely Property, Good Location and Super Pool

Chris and Eric were super hosts and extremely friendly and helpful. The pool is fab. We were there for a week at Christmas and our 8 year old niece loved theChristmas decorations - inside and out! Badger's den was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen is quite small - no cupboard to store dry foods so the window ledges and worktops were always cluttered. The sitting room was also quite small but adequate. Fabulous bed linen and extremely comfortable beds. Although the property is for 4 people, it was not a problem for our niece to be there and an extra dining chair and camp bed was there for us on arrival - really nice thought by our hosts. We had 3 cars between us and parking was a bit of an issue some times - our car is rather large so a bit difficult at times but doable. There was a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, biscuits etc which was a nice touch also. Aldi is within a few minutes drive - Sainsbury's is around 15 min drive away as is M&S within a fair size shopping centre. Good location and the information from Chris at the start of stay was very helpful and welcome. We had a lovely stay in Badgers' Den and would highly recommend it - thanks to Eric and Chris for making us feel very welcome.

Idyllic Retreat

My wife and I stayed here for a few days honeymoon after our wedding. It was beautifully peaceful at Badgers Den but close enough to the town centre. Clean and tidy with all the amenities you would expect with a few little extra touches. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Pool was lovely as were the grounds. We will definitely be returning.

A piece of Heaven in Hastings.

Amazing place and the grounds are so beautiful and full of wildlife. Everything you could possibly need or want is catered for. The Pool and the Hot tub are a great way to exercise, have fun and relax. Chris, the owner was so helpful with an abundance of information and nothing was too much trouble for him. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place is but I will just say in finishing that we have already booked again for next year, so I think that says it all!

Very Clean, Lovely Setting, Helpful Manager

Whilst Badgers Den was compact it had good quality fittings, and a conservatory. As the garden is really only a small courtyard, it was a pleasant surprise to find that some part of it was in the sun at most times of day. If you like open spaces the garden could feel a bit claustrophobic but it was sufficient for us two and very pretty with lots of flowers, as were all the surrounding gardens. Chris and Erik were very helpful and Chris brought over a fan on a very hot day without even being asked. Impressive all round.

Homely and a dream garden

We had a wonderful time at Badgers Den Cottage. The house is very cozy and homely ... and the garden around is so beautiful ... I loved it to sit at the pond and just sit, relax and dream. The swimming pool and the jacuzzi are of course great too. Everything is designed with love.

Charming cottage, set in the Hastings countryside, with stunning walks and a heated pool!

Hosts were very welcoming - also provided a starter kit (milk, orange juice, fruit bowl, biscuits, crisps, cake, tea, coffee, sugar, etc..) which was great! Nothing to fault on the cottage - Good size rooms for a family if 4 - cosy living area - practical kitchen - clean and tidy! Kids visited the shared heated (perfect temperature) pool twice a day - enjoyed the inflatables provided and a good size for swimming lengths. Mainly had the pool to ourselves, but even when other guests were making use of the facilities, there are as enough space. Perfect location right next to the country park. Highly recommend the fire hills walk (reward yourself with lunch or cake at the cafe) and trek along the stream down to the beach. Stunning views/scenery on both. Shops (coop, Tesco express) were only a 5 min drive away - so great for stocking up for the stay. Would recommend and visit again!
