If you're looking for a private, peaceful waterfront vacation, look elsewhere. This was the worst VRBO stay we've ever had. One of the biggest issues was the lack of privacy. A motion-activated camera monitored the pool area, and while we were in the pool, the host messaged us to close the umbrella, making it clear we were being watched. There was also construction less than 20 feet from the pool, including heavy equipment, well drilling, diesel engines, noise and diesel fumes. The host acknowledged the construction occurred "2–3 hours each day," but none of it was disclosed before booking, and it made enjoying the pool and outdoor living areas impossible. The neighboring property played loud dance music day and night. The pool was dirty and full of bugs. The "waterfront" is not oceanfront but a stagnant lagoon with unpleasant odors. We were quoted 4,431.92 by VRBO but charged 4,738.42, and that billing issue remains unresolved. When we contacted the host, our concerns were minimized before he stopped responding to us and VRBO. We chose this property expecting the private, peaceful waterfront getaway we booked. Instead, we spent our vacation dealing with construction, well drilling, diesel fumes, loud music, a dirty pool, stagnant lagoon odors, and a lack of privacy that made it impossible to enjoy the relaxing vacation we paid for. Had these conditions been disclosed before booking, we would have stayed elsewhere. We cannot recommend this property.
