«This was absolutely one of the best stays I’ve ever had in Japan or any place else! The mom and daughter duo who run it are so sweet, helpful and genuine, the room was terrific, and breakfast delicious. The location is right where you want to be, within walking distance of lots of Nara sights and great food. I STRONGLY recommend staying at Matsumae Ryokan if at all possible.»

«Very nice staff Not too far from the park, about 15 minutes to walk Only few minutes to walk from train station Very cozy Welcoming reception which had a place to sit down and one can use the computers, playstation or kitchen. Great value Rooms are a little bit small Cold during winter, noisy heater. Bed was small and is just a mattress on the floor»

«Excellent ryokan. I had a room with my own bathroom and shower/tub. Very clean. Comfortable futon.»

«The home was beautiful and comfortable. Everything was well labeled so it was easy to understand access to every amenity. The staff was friendly and informative. They assisted me during a medical emergency. Thank you for your kindness.»

«Good points: room is wide, fit perfectly to large group of friends or a family. Internet was good and the position is quite close to Subway. Bad points: cleaning shall be improved. »
