A romantic evening above El Tajo. The gorge is such a prominent feature that it even has a proper name! Be sure to get out and join the paseo (evening walk), which centers along Carrera Espinel.
A broad view of Ronda's western face and iconic bridge. For a sense of scale, remember that the bridge crosses 98M (320ft) above the Guadalevín River. To the right of the bridge you'll find the charming old quarter, while to the left you'll find the new town (which is still hundreds of years old). For this particular view you'll have to make your way down a long pathway to the Puerta de los Molinos (a deteriorating city gate). The best time to make the hike is late afternoon or early evening, when the weather is cool and the bridge is bathed in sunlight. The path starts at the Plaza Maria Auxiliadora.
A view of Ronda's old Moorish quarter. In the center of the photo is the 16th-century church of our Father Jesus. In front of the church you'll find a triangular pediment called the Fuente de los Ocho Caños - or Eight Spouts Fountain. In the 1700s this was the commercial center of the city, and this large public fountain was built to serve the community.
The Stone Bridge Puento Nuevo, designed by José Martín de Aldehuela, was build from 1751-1802 over the 120m deep gully El Tajo. After crossing the Puente Nuevo to the old town keep walking right until you reach some stairs going downhill to get this amazing view! It's the only place to fully see the bridge and the waterfall! #architecture
