«Couldn’t fault the property whatsoever, only downside to the stay was workman digging up the road outside from 8-5 each day which also restricted access to the property. Not a fault of the host of course but needed to leave the property during the day as couldn’t hear yourself think when workers working. »

«We loved our stay at Fern Cottage! We felt relaxed, comfortable and at home from the minute we arrived. The pictures do not do it justice.... it was more spacious than we thought and it has such incredible views. There are many wonderful walks from the doorstep, either a quick stroll down to the lakeside or to the mountains (We climbed Barrow and Catbells on our stay!). "We were a family of six travelling and we had invited our daughters and their husbands for a long weekend in The Lakes. We made a mistake ordering standard rooms and it was disappointing that we were given a tiny room as the paying part. I guess that’s our fault. Location is perfect with free parking, the staff are amazingly friendly and the breakfast first class. The place needs a good clean and shine up. The garden and exterior looked as though they had been forgotten for the current season. We will revisit but advise all to not book the cheapest room. The next level up were considerably larger and better and we will be booking those next time. "
