I had high hopes for this hotel but left pretty disappointed. Let me start with the good. The staff was great! Everyone we interacted with were friendly and did their best to help during our stay. The beach towels and sunblock were a nice touch. The building itself is charming and has a lot of character. Now the cons. The presidential suite is so loud. Any noise from the street just radiates through the room. We didn't get any sleep. We were able to move to a different room due to the noise (which we were grateful), but ran into other issues. Very little warm water despite the room having two bathrooms and enough space to accommodate 6. We only had 4 people in our group and could not all shower in the same 2 hour window. The outlets in the downstairs bedroom kept going out (not able to charge a phone next to the bed and access the alarm or use blow dryers, etc). The mini split makes a loud obnoxious noise every 2 hours or so (maybe the pump). No way to get any sleep. The "complimentary coffee" between 6-10a included a mini travel size coffee maker to be shared by the entire building and was always empty. The general cleanliness of the floors and baseboards of the rooms could be better. Dishes in the cabinets were dirty. I really wanted to love this place. I've stayed in older hotels and expected flaws but not sleeping and showering comfortably impacted our whole vacation.
