Beach House stay could have been better...

We just wanted an easy stay next to the beach for our yearly family "girls weekend." Place was well-stocked as advertised, and nicely within reach to the beach. The hot water was not working when we arrived; we just happened to notice a single line in the notebook about flipping a switch on the outside wall to get it working. Not a good start, but okay, we figured it out. Light was out in the frig; small issue but annoying. Couldn't use the indoor fireplace; again, small annoyance, but something we thought was usable from the pics. The biggest issue for us... On the morning we were leaving & had to be out by 10:00, there was no hot water available. Again. We trouble-shooted for 30 min and then called the host to let them know the issue and to get their help. Host on the phone didn't offer an extended departure time with our difficulties; and when replying to our texted displeasure (out the door without our showers!), tried a "had you but asked" line for us to digest (in regards to a later departure time). By that point, it was enough to send us through the roof. Later texts apologized and gave a discount for a RETURN visit--not for this bad visit--like we would want to be a return customer. It could have been dealt with much better, even with the no-hot-water issue, and we would have considered a return. But that didn't happen. Not happy with this visit, and wouldn't recommend.

Excellent location, very clean, and well stocked. The only problems we had was the shade in the bottom floor bedroom would not stay down, the upstairs tub was clogged, and the tv in the bottom bedroom would not work due to no signal. Otherwise every thing else was perfect.

Summer Vacay

Such a wonderful home for our family trip. Had everything we needed and more. We loved outside area and they had all the beach items we needed. Kitchen well stocked was a plus. Neighbors were nice and we were close to shops stores eateries and more.

Downtown beach house

Our family of 7 Adults and 1 toddler stayed comfortably in this house. The location is perfect to walk to Belmont park, the beach or the bay. Beds were comfortable and the house was set up well. The back yard firepit and Bbq were perfect for our group.

The best

We couldn’t have enjoyed our trip more and this location made all the difference! The fire pit made every night so special and the layout of the house was extremely comfortable. Put all of that together with the walkability and wow!

Historic cottage beach house

The home is full of historic charm. Easy access to the beach without crossing big roads. We did fit our Rav 4 and a Toyota Siena Van both in the garage and another Toyota Siena in the ally area behind the garage. We made good use of all of the beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, and wagon. The Firepit in the front yard was a gathering place hit in the evenings. The living room was big enough to accommodate the twelve of us and a few dinner guests. Everyone said their bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was in great working order and well stocked with needed items. On the downside some of the individual room AC unit’s were very noisy or just never got cool. The trash cans on the side of the house were covered in flies and maggots so take spray to keep them to a minimum. .

Great for a family getaway

We enjoyed this property and it's close proximity to Belmont Park and the shops and restaurants off Mission Blvd. The firepit outside was a nice gathering place for everyone to keep warm in the cool evenings.

San Diego Graduation Stay

The house was clean with plenty of beds for 8 people! There were also plenty of towels. There was a garage to park one car, and space alongside for a second car. The firepit was especially nice as it was a bit chilly in the evenings, but was an excellent place to gather and chat. The house wasn't on the beach, but a short walk through a friendly community to the beach. We met several families who owned a house in the community. I would definitely rent this house again, and recommend it to friends and family.

Cute Cottage at the beach

The house is adorable! So close to the beach and Belmont park is perfect for the kids. Shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The only downside is the very limited parking at the house. We had to use public parking for the suburban become it was way too big to park at the house. Perfect house if you are traveling with kids.

Our second stay was as good as our first 6 years ago

A really nice home in a mostly residential area with just enough commercial establishments nearby to fill the bill. It is just one property away from Mission Blvd and one block away from the amusement park, but there are no issues with noise at all. What we liked best: a bedroom / bathroom and the living area on the ground floor. What we found most challenging: fitting our two cars in the garage. We had a regular SUV (Mazda CX-5) and a small sedan (Volvo Polestar 2), which did both fit in the garage, but with no room to open the driver's door of one of them. We climbed out through the passenger side. But this is the story with every property in Mission Beach. We often parked one car on Mission Blvd, which, in this area, has no time restrictions.

Great location and house for a family

This was a perfect location and house for a beach vacation. While not ocean view, just step away from easy beach access. Close enough to run back for drinks, snacks, toys etc. Great supply of chairs and sand toys and wagon to haul. Several great places to grab food/coffee/smoothies from a bock away. So close to so much I was worried it would be noisy, but was always quiet at night and felt safe and secure despite the bustle. The garage was convenient, loved having the laundry, the kitchen was very well appointed with everything you could need, and loved the private outdoor space to hang out in. Overall an adorable old beach house, but updated and clean,

Perfect spot for two families, 9 total

We had two families--one family of 4 and one family of 5. Five kids age 7 and under with 4 adults. The home was perfectly spacious, comfortable beds, clean, complete kitchen, lovely outdoor space, and a perfect location. Easy walk to the beach. It is also a great location (short Uber/Lyft) if you want to visit Sea World, which we did for 3 of the 7 days we stayed here. The property manager was very responsive. All in all a great experience. I sent the VRBO listing to several other friends to suggest this place!

Great access to beach!

The kitchen was well appointed with nice appliances and everything you would need. Living room was cozy & comfy once we found the space heaters. The outdoor space was disappointing with the construction across the walkway, hammering, saws, etc., yes, on Sunday also!! A look on google earth will tell you when this is done. Also, by city order, the fence was removed, and 12' to 18" or so of the turf. Thus, could not all sit around the fire pit as the furniture was not to be moved. Once the fence is replaced, and all is relocated to fit the space, and the construction is done, I trust this will all resolve, but not for us! A notice that the garage is not attached and a note as to where the key is located would be helpful.
