This place is absolutely amazing—just like the photos, modern, spotless, and beautifully maintained. It’s tucked away in a lovely neighborhood, and at night it’s so peaceful you can even hear the crickets. John has truly thought of every detail, from the super-soft anchor-patterned sheets and complimentary slippers to the thoughtful welcome basket with wine, snacks, and even fresh lemons from their tree! Communication was quick and easy, and we also had the pleasure of meeting John, Michael, and their sweet pup, which made our stay even more special. We’d definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying again!

Beautiful ground floor apartment with private patio; amenities and special touches made our stay delightful. We never heard footfalls or voices from the owners upstairs after 9 pm. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely; a car is needed to access beaches, attractions and restaurants.

A perfect getaway

We visit San Diego frequently and I am always leery of renting a space within someone's home. However, this rental is absolutely perfect. Sunset Cliffs is quiet and stunningly beautiful. Street parking was easy and there was never an issue finding a spot in front of the house. The outdoor space is incredible and we especially enjoyed the fire pit. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and linens. The kitchen had everything we needed including a nice welcome basket of snacks and beverages. There are lots of little details that show the owners care about their guests' experiences (charging cords, clothing steamer, fresh basket of lemons, sunscreen, etc). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.

Excellent area

My mom and I came out for the weekend and LOVED it. John is incredibly friendly and has a gorgeous property, it is even better than the photos. Being able to listen to the ocean right from the patio was lovely. Thank you for the wonderful experience and hospitality! We’ll be back.

We had a lovely stay. Since we were there for nearly two weeks, it was especially important that our host foresaw our needs and items like extra linens, kitchen gear and a desk were provided. Spectacular EVERYTHING!

My husband and I visited our granddaughter and didn't get as much time as we would have liked to stay in the area. Boy do we wish we did! This rental was amazing with everything you could possibly think of there waiting for you. I have never slept on a more comfortable mattress and that means so muchb when you're on vacation.John was great with instructions on getting access and even welcomed us with a bottle of wine! Can't recommend staying here enough...we will and next time we will stay longer to enjoy all that is around.

San Diego Visit

Wow!-Our first reaction when entering this space. The thoughtfulness put into it all is clearly evident.Great ways to enjoy the beautiful ocean view; the kitchen is ready for whatever it is you may want to prepare; all amenities are of the highest caliber.John, our host, is very accessible and responsive. We always felt comfortable he’d be right there for us if we needed anything.We will definitely look for this place again on our return visits to San Diego. Highest recommendation!!

Wonderful Gem Deep within Sunset Cliffs

Great lower unit with patio and view. Parking is no issue. Groceries and restaurants are near by. Neighborhood is hilly but walkable with amazing views of the ocean, which is a small walk down the hill. We were able to relax in mid-winter with the large door to the living space open letting in the fresh air. The property owners were wonderful to work with, responsive to all needs and questions, and checked in repeatedly to ensure everything was going well.If you’re looking for a relaxing stay in an outstanding location, this is a property for you.

Great Stay

This was the best VRBO stay we've had. Everything was as advertised and more. From check in to check out, our stay was easy and smooth. John is very helpful any time his help is wanted and the attention to detail for this rental is unmatched. The location is perfect for San Diego and is in a quiet neighborhood. We went everywhere from downtown to old town to La Jolla within 15-20 minutes of this location by vehicle. I'd absolutely recommend this place for anyone wanting a nice, relaxing vacation to San Diego.

Lovely home

Great location. Very clean. Loved that we could open the garage door and live indoor/outdoors. Would have loved to try the fire pit but didn’t have the opportunity. John was a very gracious host; before our stay I asked if the vrbo had a cookie sheet, he bought one and had it in the kitchen waiting. As he knew I was cooking part of a Thanksgiving dinner, he asked if I needed to borrow any other items. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the area.

Views with a wow

To start, we will be back. We arrived late in the evening and with a short walk down the stairs, to the back of the main house, our stay started. The interior was clean and modern. With the morning sun rise, the views of the Pacific Ocean were breathtaking & picturesque. It was quiet, with friendly neighbors. We want to go back in order to open the overhead door and enjoy the weather.

Awesome Stay!

We could not have been more pleased with our four day stay. The location was excellent to get to the best that San Diego had to offer easily. Immense attention was paid to all the little details that made our stay feel like home. There were several little extras. The roll up garage door is an excellent feature. There was a clear view of the Pacific Ocean with nightly sunsets. There was even an outdoor fireplace. The hosts left many helpful recommendations for local eateries. The stay far exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

Peaceful getaway in Point Loma

We were so comfortable in the suite it was hard to leave! The bed was incredibly cozy, the place was spotless, and the stocked coffee bar was a much appreciated touch. Nothing like that view while having your morning coffee! John is a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. The location is perfect; a quick walk to the cliffs and a short drive to all that San Diego has to offer. We will definitely stay here the next time we’re in town!

Anniversary Getaway

Property and experience was top notch. Easy check-in and communications topped of with a fully stocked condo with amazing views, finishes and personality. Sweet Cabana Suite

As other reviews have said, I’ve used VRBO for many years. I always read reviews when making a decision on a property. This property warrants a 10+++!!! Our son and friends we’ve made over the years live nearby so it was very convenient and easy to entertain a couple times. My husband and I enjoyed everything about this suite. Meeting John and Mike was icing on the cake! They are delightful owners.

Paradise in Point Loma!

We spent the past two weeks at this VERY SPECIAL cabana. I could write paragraphs on how wonderful this place is but, to sum it up, every aspect of this place is sheer perfection - ocean views, ocean breezes wafting through the cabana, general location, furnishings, extra amenities, and the best hosts ever! Having used VRBO for nearly 20 years, I can honestly say that this was my best experience. The home itself is right out of Architectural Digest!! Many thanks to our hosts!!

Great rental with great location and great view

Property was exactly what you see in the pictures - it was much larger than I expected and lots of room for the two of us. Easy parking on the street and John sent me the codes to access the rental well before check in time (still had to wait for the cleaning crew to finish up). Lots of little extras included - lots of pillows to choose from (this was big for me as most times they are too soft or too hard). Quality options in the bathroom. Beach towels - large and soft. Beach chairs! Used them a couple of times - most of the tourists were sitting on the ground. Nice welcome box of snacks and a bottle of wine. We loved the garage door feature - opened it every morning and evening as the weather was great. Outside was very nice with lots of seating options and the fire table was great on the cool evenings. John, the host, is very friendly and gave us lots of good recommendations Location-Location-Location - it was perfect for us. 15 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes to the Midway, 15 minutes to the Zoo, 10 minutes to Ocean beach, 10 minutes to whale watching. 30 minutes to La Jolla Cove. With gas almost $6/galloon this saved us some $$. 100% recommend renting!!
