The front-desk staff was friendly and professional when I checked in—no issues there. She assured me the showers were “very hot,” which I desperately needed after days of exhausting storm damage triage and cleanup.
The room itself was spotlessly clean—easily one of the cleanest motels I’ve ever stayed in, and I genuinely appreciated that during an already stressful time.
Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The showers were not hot at all—they were only comfortably warm. Any cooler and they would have been straight-up lukewarm. After what I’d been through, a truly hot shower would have made a huge difference, but it just wasn’t there.
The Wi-Fi—advertised as a key amenity and a requirement for me to work remotely—was completely unusable. The provided password kept failing. I notified the desk, and they said they’d reset the router. Still nothing. Later, I could see networks for other rooms (like room 113 and room 320) and even a hallway Roku TV, so I sent screenshots proving the issue. I never heard back.
The next morning, when I raised the Wi-Fi problem again, the staff member on duty became argumentative, essentially accused me of lying, and insisted their internet was “excellent throughout the property.” I pointed out that other guests in the continental breakfast area were having the same issue—they couldn’t connect either and had to move around the motel trying to get signal.
