OK hotel med stort forbedringspotensial- frokost
Rommet er ok, ikke større enn det må være. Beliggenheten er ok. Vikingene som bosatte seg på Island kom fra Norge. Nå kan det tenkes at akkurat de som reise ikke var så godt vant, men eierne av Center Hotels Midgardur bør ta seg en tur tilbake til Norge. Jeg vil påstå at selv de billigste hotel i Norge har en utvalg og en frokost som er bedre enn hva vi fikk servert under oppholdet. Da tenker jeg på hva som faktisk serveres og ellers kan jeg si at det å servere en særdeles enkel "light" versjon av English breakfast hver dag, en dag med bønner, neste dag med røstipoteter er skremmende dårlig. Ellers 2 typer, kjøttpålegg, en kjedelig ost og kun kalde harde egg, uansett når du kommer til frokost. Hotellet er greit, nok, men som følge av frokosten vil jeg aldri bo her igjen, og det var frokost opplevelsen som gjorde at vi heller ikke valgte å spise restauranten. Vi fikk og via lenke Hotels.com tilbud på 3 retter middag til 50 Pund, men det stod ikke noe sted hva det var, var det kjøtt, hva med allergier, vegetarianere. Dersom dere ønske å promotere tilbud gjennom Hotels.com, skriv da i allefall hva menyer er, så en kan vurdere om det er noe en kunne tenke seg å spise. Beklager at jeg ikke er mer positiv til maten, men igjen sjekk ut Norge, feks. Thon hotels, eller en hvilken som helst annen kjede eller enkelt hotell. sorry

Sentralt i Reykjavik, kort vei til alt.
Kort fortalt. Stort sett hyggelig betjening, litt små rom, noe slitt og noen feil på rom som feks safe som ikke er festet ol. Deler av døgnet er det tomt for varmt vann. Enkel men god frokost. Spa er ganske lite. Vanskelig med gratis parkering, men betalt rett foran som er billig. Ligger veldig sentralt for både butikker og utesteder i byen. Stort shoppingsenter ca 30 min å gå. En ting om du kommer med bil. Reykjavik er vanskelig å kjøre i mht skilting og veinummer. Bruk en bil med GPS for å spare masse tid med å finne frem. Reddet ferien for oss. Ellers er nesten egen bil ett must siden alle severdigheter er langt vekk fra byen. det går turistbusser og små busser med guide, men er dyrt og ofte med kort tid på hver plass.

After working 20 years in the hotel industry myself, I have high standards whenever i stay at a hotel. The three things i look at apart from the staff (which were all friendly and helpful) is the breakfast; my problem with the breakfast wasn't lack of options, but rather how things were cooked: all warm things were over cooked: the scrambled eggs were super dry, the bacon wasn't dry but hard and chewy, the boiled eggs were green inside. So easy to improve, so please do! The apple and orange 'drinks' (please don't present as juice) tasted like watered down cordial. Staff was attentive and friendly, but boys; smile! :) Two things in the room: quality of pillows. The pillows were 80% air, and made it uncomfortable to sleep. The second thing is water pressure in the shower; it was so low so I had to have my daily shower at the spa. Despite my comments, I did enjoy my stay: central location and friendly staff.

Behagelig opphold
Fint rom med god seng. Godt og ferskt brød til frokost. Kunne vært større utvalg av pålegg, men bedre enn mange andre steder. Perfekt beliggenhet mtp henting til forskjellige aktiviteter. Kort gåavstand til hovedgaten og restauranter. Kunne absolutt booket her igjen en annen gang.

My partner and I stayed in Reykjavik for five nights at the Midgardur Center hotel - this place is excellent! The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful, and having breakfast included in the cost of your stay is a big plus since food in Iceland can get pricey. The spa downstairs is a lovely perk and we both found it very clean with fresh towels, bathrobes, and slippers available. Last, the midgardur hotel is in a super walkable part of the city. You’re two short blocks from a bus stop and a five to ten minute walk from rainbow street, shopping, and restaurants. Absolutely recommend this stay!

The hotel was lovely, in a convenient location and the staff was very helpful. The only negative comment would be the bar area was a bit chilly which is the last thing you want after spending a day outside in the cold!

This hotel was in a perfect location as it is within easy distance to walk to the town center and main attractions in Reykjavik. Hotel was very modern and clean and rooms were comfortable. The tour bus and transfer bus right outside!

The staff were friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hot tubs in the hotel were very relaxing. The neighborhood had great shops and restaurants - and was also walkable. Would definitely come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Miðgarður. Our room was already ready, even though we arrived early directly from the airport, and they allowed us to check in without extra charges. The hotel is very well located, with shops and plenty of dining options around. We had a room for my husband, my son and myself and they had prepared my son’s bed and left everything ready very neatly. Room was very spacious! The spa was a wonderful added bonus, and the breakfast was great! Lots of options. We wanted to book a Northern Lights tour and they arranged that for us super quickly. And the transportation picks you up right outside of the hotel. Everybody that we interacted with at the hotel were super nice and friendly. Specially Flory who went above and beyond for us! The only kind of an issue is the parking, which really is understandable as they are in the city. They do offer some spots, but they fill up pretty quickly and there’s also people that are not guests at the hotel that use it, even though there are signs there that say they are only for hotel guests. But overall, great hotel and great service. We’re doing a ring-road road trip and will be staying here again on our way back and we’re looking forward to it. It’s an excellent hotel.

The rooms are small, but that is to be expected. The location was perfect… just at the edge of the main strip through town.
