«The fireplace rooms are straight out of the 70s. That was unexpected. Popcorn ceilings, dated carpet, large room with lots of wasted floorspace and a small gas fireplace in the corner. The fireplace was attached to the thermostat and would come on periodically throughout the night. The blower fan for the fireplace would squeak and wake my partner and I up each time. The main lodge is cute, and has a nice atmosphere, but I feel like they over-sold the fireplace rooms.»

«If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to check into a 1950s fever dream, look no further. The location is a 10/10, but the hotel itself is a solid "Time Machine Broken." Walking into the lobby felt less like a vacation and more like an estate sale. The air had that signature "Grandma’s Attic" musk, and the reception featured a glass cabinet of snacks that I’m fairly certain have been there since the Eisenhower administration. «First time staying here. Amazing staff, very clean. Amenities are above and beyond in my opinion. Swing set, fire pit on demand, courtesy kayaks and boats, short walk to the beach, rooms are cozy and beautiful. Comfortable bed. Everything made this stay very pleasurable. »

«The room smelled heavily of bleach and BO, which was a struggle but the window helped a lot with that. Continental breakfast was mostly an assortment of pre packaged muffins and bagels. Not terrible but nothing to write home about. Parking was tough with a long truck but cars would do just fine Super close beach access. Soft bed and plenty of pillows. Staff was very friendly and attentive. »
