«There might be several reasons to stay at the Rack Shack. Ours was the location, not far from Fallingwater which we visited the following morning. Also, the modest price for an entire cabin was appreciated. Visiting from northern Maine we were right at home with the antlers and taxidermy. And if you look past the furry decor you'll see that the building is far from a shack....it's finished nicely, all buttoned up, clean and comfy. «Well, it is a small place right on the trail. No front desk but the connected grocery store was very helpful. Check in was a breeze, although leaving my bike in the lobby made me nervous. Thankfully a helpful staff person assured me it would be ok and it was! While the store doesn't sell beer, they pointed me to a little restaurant bar two blocks away and James the bartender was the best. Good burger, fries, and cold beer! «We had a great stay for our hiking trip. Loved to be able to just walk to many hiking trails and to dinner. Coffee maker wasn’t working but thankfully had a great coffee shop just down the block! Everything was comfortable for two people, maybe one more would be okay for the shared living space but that’s probably the most I would have. Happy with cleanliness! And bottled water provided in fridge was nice. »
