8/10 – Bra

Facility is a bit aged, the wear ‘n’ tear is evident in the worn & somewhat stained carpet and, occasionally, walls throughout. Amenities were perfect for our needs and the staff were always friendly & welcoming. A vending machine is available, but only for bottled drinks & only on the second floor. Coffees & hot water are always available, which was appreciated.
The most disappointing aspect was with handicap access. We were promised an easy-entry to shower/tub however it was not. Sponge bathing should not be a necessity .. given today’s options. We asked for walk-in, which was not available but was told the tub side was low enough to accommodate.. it was not. Building access was adequate, but there are areas where covering from rain is not ideal.
Our room was on the “sunrise” side, meaning that it faced I-75, less than a half-mile away. Yes, that meant noise from traffic. Occasionally there were idiots who thought it was necessary to show off their exhaust systems. Thankfully those were minimal, though bothersome.
With I-75 in close proximity, there are many “dining” options, though most are fast food types. The “real” restaurants we considered weren’t highly regarded via online reviews.
As far as a revisit, probably not, but maybe. Our trip was made to inter my retired USAF veteran father in the state’s military cemetery. As he was our family’s last veteran, returning trips would be for visiting our loved ones there. In case you’re wondering, the cemetery is close.
