«Booked the hotel in the afternoon online, arrived at 19.00 - nobody there. Reception closed and all dark! Eventually discovered a note with a phone no to call in "emergency" - suprise - answeringmachine! Then tried next phone no and a very surprised persons answered and it took her at least 30 minutes to arrive. The restaurant was closed Mondays and Tuesdays, we had to head out in the dark to find somewhere to eat dinner. Was advised there had been an "staff emergency" that afternoon... However ...

It has a that kind of rustic charm in appearance you would expect in a French Villa..... a little tarnish but with loads of character and so total perfection is not necessary. The owner was lovely, very accommodating when I asked for a foldout bed and a late check out. When in the Hunter Valley I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.»

«Great property on minor gripe was only 4 coffee pods for a three night stay more would have been better. We also suggest a sheer curtain across the front doors and windows for semi privacy and enable you to still enjoy the great view.»

«The positive first: A very nice and helpful lady is the keeper of the place. Unfortunately the negative is heavy. Everything is very old, the room is small, the mattress is terrible, the tiny bathroom is smelly and a major noisy road passes 100 meters away. The breakfast is not on site but in a coffee shop on the other side of the busy road. I was a little disappointed that there was very small tubes of shampoo etc for two person stay over two nights and a request for fresh towels seemed to be an extra forty or so dollars. I never mind paying for accommodation so long as I don't have to supplement basics like shampoo or fresh towels, particularly as the nearest shops are about twenty minutes drive away.
