WINTER CONDITIONS: We highly suggest all wheel or 4WD vehicles October-May. We do not refund for weather, and expect our guests to be prepared to encounter snow during this time. Our location is well maintained and lower elevation (compared to other mountain towns) and is a great option for drivers. We do plow for 4+ inches, but we cannot guarantee it is immediate since it depends on the plow driver's schedule. If we do get a snow storm, you will need to be more self-sufficient and we provide shovels and basic winter supplies. Please consider trip insurance if you are not comfortable with snow. However, we believe this is the most beautiful time of the year and a great time to visit.
CONNECTIVITY AND INTERNET: Cell service at the lodge is spotty at best, but our fiber internet Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. For the best experience with calls and texts, please turn on Wi-Fi Calling on your phone before or upon arrival. You will have access to Wi-Fi upon arrival for a smooth check in.
WILDLIFE: You’re staying in the heart of Colorado’s mountain habitat, so you may see deer, elk, foxes, bears, and other wildlife nearby. Please admire them from a distance and never feed them — human food and trash can be harmful and attract animals too close to homes. Keep all food, trash, and recycling secured in the provided bins, and never leave food outside or in vehicles.
NEIGHBORHOOD: We are located in a very small community off the beaten path. There is plenty of privacy to be had, but we do have neighbors and adhere to a quiet hours policy 10PM-8AM. The drive to the house is about 11 minutes off of the highway, with windy breathtaking views of a mountain community. We are not close to grocery stores and recommend stopping in Conifer on the way in. Our limited restaurants can be seasonal and suggest calling ahead. Not suitable for respiratory sensitive guests or infants, elevation is 8,000ft and altitude sickness.
CARE: Please treat our cabin as nicely as you treat your own home. Please be mindful of staining bedsheets, towels, or woodwork. If you have a special need that would better accommodate your stay, please let us know!
PLUMBING: The easiest way to disrupt an enjoyable stay is a plumbing problem. To prevent this, we kindly ask you to please place things like sanitary napkins in the bins we’ve provided in the bathroom under the sink. We simply want to ensure you have a royal flush kind of day!
SMOKING: Our home is a non-smoking environment. If you need to smoke, please do so outside of our property. We must adhere to county issues regulations and fire-safety.
PROPERTY BOUNDARIES: We invite you to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of our 2-acre property! Boundary markers show where our land ends—please stay within them and avoid crossing into neighboring properties. Thank you for helping us keep good relationships with our neighbors.
NOISE: Please help us preserve the peace and tranquility of this mountain retreat so everyone can relax and enjoy their stay. Sound carries easily in the mountains — thank you for being considerate neighbors and enjoying the serenity of this beautiful space.
PARKING: There is plenty of space to park for up to 3 vehicles. Do not park in the street on the public right-of-way. Oversized buses or vehicles designed for 16+ passengers are not allowed on the property.
ATV / OFF-ROAD VEHICLES: For everyone’s safety and to follow county rules, ATVs, OHVs, and other non-licensed vehicles may not be used on County Roads during your stay. Please enjoy the property on foot and use only street-legal vehicles on the roads.
FIRE RESTRICTIONS: Our mountain community is beautiful but also at risk for wildfires. Fire restrictions change often depending on weather and fire danger. The following are prohibited: campfires and the use of portable outdoor charcoal grills, outdoor fireplaces, or any other ember-producing equipment. Use of the provided non-ember-producing propane fire pit is allowed. As a rule of thumb: no open burning, fireworks, or unattended flames.
WEAPONS AND FIREARMS: For everyone’s safety and to maintain the peaceful character of our mountain community, recreational shooting or discharge of firearms, bows, crossbows, or any other weapons is strictly prohibited on the property. This includes target practice, hunting, or any other activity involving the use of weapons. Guests may not bring or discharge fireworks, explosives, or similar devices. Thank you for helping us keep the property safe, quiet, and enjoyable for all.
NO PETS ALLOWED: To protect our home, our neighbors, and the local wildlife, pets are not permitted at this short-term rental. This includes dogs, cats, and other animals. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep the property safe, clean, and welcoming for all guests.
SERVICE ANIMALS
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), trained service animals are always welcome. To avoid confusion and ensure we are prepared for your stay, we kindly ask that you let us know at the time of booking if a service animal will be accompanying you. During booking or check-in, we ask that you provide us with answers to the following questions: 1) Is the service animal required because of a disability? And 2) What work or task has the service animal been trained to perform?
