Expected more - we paid premium rates for this hotel during the Cardiff Half Marathon, with a suite room. Unfortunately, it was not as good as it could have been. The staff as much as pleasant, were clearly restricted by rules that really did not give a great customer service experience. . We only had one robe instead of two and that had what looked like a blood stain finger print on it. . The carpet had not been hoovered well. . The card keys are overly sensitive to phones and bank cards, so that was also a frustration. The staff were helpful in sorting all these things, but really shouldn't have been an issue in the first place, when paying over £380 per night - total time used 3pm - 8.30am. To really cause the final disappointment, they wouldn't allow us to have a late check- out, that we were willing to pay for even though we are aware they were not going to be close to fully booked. Additionally, they wouldn't allow us to leave our car in the car park, that would have been moved by the next check in time of others; they stated the Manager had requested no one can park after check out. So actually, you don't get a chance to visit the city without worrying about moving your car, even when paying extortionate rates.
