Marsh-View Oasis: 2-Min Easy Walk to Beach,Covered Decks, Outdoor Shower

Escape to Oak Island's tranquil shores at The Hammock House, newly renovated in 2020. This 2-bed, 2-bath haven amidst picturesque marshlands offers breathtaking views and ocean waves nearby. Relax in backyard hammocks amidst rustling marsh grass. With two porches, including a covered front one, and an outdoor shower, enjoy sun-kissed beach adventures with paddle boards, kayaks, beach games, and a basketball hoop just a 2-minute stroll away. Perfect for serene retreats or adventure getaways.

The space -
Kitchen is stocked with essentials (yes, there is a waffle maker), lovely marsh view off the kitchen. Dining table seats 6 inside and our outdoor table seats 6 outside. The sectional is super comfy and folds out into a queen bed if you need extra sleeping space. There is HDTV + Chromecast to stream your favorite entertainment. High-speed internet to make the streaming happen. The master bedroom includes a King bed and a bathroom with walk-in shower. Second bedroom includes a twin over full bunk bed and additional rollaway bed. Guest bathroom has a "kid-friendly" tub. All rooms have ceiling fans and shades in case you want to sleep-in.

We will provide linens and towels. We will have some beach towels but please bring your own as well just in case.

The outside spaces are lovely. There is a covered front deck where you can get out of the sun but still keep your eyes towards the beach. This comes with chairs and tables to relax. The back deck is off the kitchen area and has a bistro set to enjoy your coffee in the morning or your margaritas at sunset.

Downstairs there is a 2 car garage to store bikes, your car, and other beach essentials you bring. ((We will provide some beach toys, umbrella, and chairs)). The garage is also where you have access to a washer and dryer. The backyard and back patio has two hammocks, a table with 6 chairs and the Caribbean "hook" game. The back patio area is also covered. The yard is a great place to let the kids run around (soccer goals in the garage) or for you to set-up the corn hole boards. We hope you love it like we do.

Guest access -
The house comes with a two car garage and also allows for two additional cars parked in the driveway. You can get to the beach on foot in a 2 min walk. We are off Middleton so easy access to town, stores and shops.

Extras -
Extras - Ice Shake is two blocks away to fill your cooler, next to the Beach Pantry.
Linens (Full, Twin, King) and towels (bath not beach towels) are provided. No need to rent.
Linens are provided for the bunk (full and twin) and the king. If you need the rollaway and queen pullout couch please bring your own sheets.

What a little gem! From the location looking out over the Marsh to the beach just around the corner and the breeze on the front porch! This cottage is perfection! Communication with the owner,cleanliness,every amenity you could need were all a perfect 10! It was our first time to Oak Island but will not be our last at The Hammock House!

This is just a magical little blue cottage. We loved every detail. The marsh was an incredible surprise - what a peaceful location. Superb

Fantastic home with a stunning view of the marsh. The street offers a quiet beach stay, making it ideal for families with early bedtimes. The walk to the beach is so quick, even with little ones in tow. The home is stocked and ready to go with the easiest checkout. And the owners are quickly and efficiently available for any needs! Highly recommend!

If I could give this property more than 5 stars I would. Check in was seamless, the house is charming and well maintained. 2 short blocks to the beach, which is on the quiet west end of the island. Communication with the owner was excellent. Highly recommended!

Super clean updated property with awesome views!!

The property met all of our needs with having two little ones. The property owner answered all of our questions prior to our stay. The home was also extremely clean and tidy upon arrival. We do a lot of home cooking so enjoyed the nice kitchen with the views of the marsh. If you enjoy fishing it’s just a short walk to the beach access and a short drive to the point and sound. The washer and dryer is down stairs so be prepared to carry laundry down the steps. We would def consider booking again.

Great vacation home!

This was our first time in Oak Island. This house was perfect for our one week stay. It is so convenient to everything (shops, grocery, restaurants and of course the beach!). The 2 min walk to the ocean was no problem! The house has everything you need for a awesome vacation. We will be back!

Overlooking beautiful marsh, quick walk to the beach!

We absolutely loved this property and would stay here again in a heartbeat! The house is situated close to the center of town, overlooking a beautiful marsh. It is a quick walk to the beach. The house was very comfortable, tastefully decorated (minimalist style / neutrals) and well stocked. Maari, the host, is very friendly and easily accessible by text. I subtracted a star for cleanliness because the kitchen was not swept before our stay and a toilet was not wiped down. This was likely the random error of a housekeeper and not the host. The remainder of the house was satisfactory, so not a huge issue.

Perfect Vacation

We enjoyed our stay so much. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. It was perfect for us adults and the kids. The view from the kitchen window was beautiful over the marsh. We also loved the back yard with the hammocks and our kids could play in the yard. The walk to the beach was short and easy. This house is a 10/10.

Perfect spot for relaxing beach week

Second time staying in this house. It is the perfect size for our family of 4! Quiet area, and a very short walk to the beach access, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and all the gear you need to enjoy your days on the beach. The porches on front and back are a lovely place to take a break from the sun. We will be back!

Would stay again!

Great home! Extremely clean - even the hammocks and garage were spotless. We felt totally comfortable with our new babies in the home. The property manager was available to us and so accommodating. Great location near the beach - easy walk, even with little ones. Would absolutely stay again! (The ONLY caveat - highly recommend bringing your own pillows.)
