It’s located north of the historic center, between El Ejido and Monte Gibralfaro. It borders the La Merced neighborhood to the southwest and El Ejido to the north and west. It belongs to the La Victoria neighborhood, close to El Ejido and La Cruz Verde, two outlying areas. All of these are historic neighborhoods of Málaga and of great importance.

Artistic associations, alternative bookstores, multipurpose spaces, graffiti everywhere… just a stone’s throw from the center of Málaga, we find an ideal of freedom and artistry that catches everyone’s eye.

Although the neighborhood suffers from urban decay, graffiti adorns many of its walls, and the large number of tourists passing through Lagunillas are often surprised by this urban art.

During Holy Week, several religious brotherhoods pass through Cruz Verde Street, and these streets are full of life, thanks to its prime location about 5–10 minutes from downtown and about 15 minutes from “La Malagueta” Beach
