Foxgloves on the lane to Beacon These striking and colourful plants line the lanes of the Blackdowns in the summer months. Although Foxgloves (Digitalis purpurea) are extremely poisonous, the drug Digitalin is carefully and professionally extracted for the treatment of cardiac disorders. A Dr Witherington of Warwickshire first discovered the medical importance of this plant and published in 1785 "An Account of the Foxglove and some of its Medical Uses".

Room clean, nice big bed. But stark decor & bathroom needed updating. Very non-smiling lady was my welcome, but there were other frendlier peops on reception. No room service & no food available after 4.30 except in restauranr which was fullly booked... not my idea of hotel service. Nice pool but ...
