Best hostel in London
Amazing hostel - by far the best one I've been to in London. Stayed in a female dorm. The room was big and a nice ensuite bathroom. Nice linen, big lockers and good beds. Good and cheap breakfast, cool bar with lots og events, and friendly staff ! Perfect if you travel alone, since it's a good place to make new friends. Will definitely come back next time, even though it's a bit outside the core of the city center, and the area feels just a tiny but creepy if you walk alone at night (no people anywhere)

Large rooms, great shower area, large locker, great receptionist and common area. Walkable to some attractions. Location doesn't feel the safest especially at night.

Unexpectedly, the room is clean and spacious. I stayed during weekdays and was the only one using the room for 2 out of 4 nights. Convenient and walkable to various famous spots. Easy to take subway to other places or muesums.Easy to get food at supermarkets nearby and then cook at the kitchen. All in all, I will definitely choose to stay at Wombat's again

I stayed at the Wombats in London for 5 nights in March 2023. This property had an amazing location, great facilities, and a welcoming and helpful staff. The bar (with games and daily events) and common spaces made it extremely easy to meet and interact with other travelers. The rooms had private beds, a clean bathroom, and an open floorspace. I would totally stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling solo or with friends.

Clean, basic, lovely, well-stocked hostel. 10 minute walk to Tower of London which sits on a main line tube with easy access to tourist London. Staff is super nice. Stayed in private room with en suite bathroom with my son. Basic, beds are metal and noisy, but super clean. No complaints-- lovely stay.

We loved staying here. Although we are not backpackers, this was really convenient for my London office and great value. Staff were helpful and it had a great vibe.

Room was quiet and orderly, facilities were very functional and clean. Its a short walk from the Tower Bridge and close to a tube line. As far as nightlife there’s not much immediately surrounding the hostel.

Good Hostel
It was alright. The bar area in the basement is great. But I didn't like that the guests need to change the bed linen by themselves. Imo this service needs to be provided by the hostel. And the blanket looked like it was 20 years old. Anyway, besides some ruthless roommates I enjoyed the stay.

We stayed at wombats hostel for one night in a private room with bathroom. Generally the location of the hostel is really great, only 12 minutes walking to tower bridge! The rooms are really basic and nothing special. Unfortunately for 150 Euros per night we really have expected to find at least a shower gel in the shower and I think also free towels should be included.

Don’t stay in room 007 on the first floor!
Don’t sleep in Room 007. Stayed for 3nights in that room and what can I say. Every morning I was woken up by loud music and the bass from the kitchen below us at 07:30 , my bed was vibrating of the bass haha. The girl in the same room told us she stayed there for 6days and every morning was the same. Hope they can fix this because you could not fall to sleep again after 07:30.

Sweat your butt off
The hostel is nice. The atmosphere is inviting. The staff is ok. Some are kind, some aren’t. The worst part about the hostel is there is no air conditioning. The rooms you stay in are like a sauna. You go to bed sweating and wake up throughout the night COVERED in sweat. Made it nearly impossible to get a good nights sleep.

You would NOT think this is a hostel. It’s a beautiful place to stay. You can rent private rooms which are gorgeous. The bar down in the basement is the best bar ever! You can play pool, watch films or go outside for a cigarette or hammock swing. I love this place and have had the best nights here! Clean, modern and interesting!

I have never had a bad experience in the hostel like this, the building behind the railway and my room face to the street, there was so much noise all day, I couldn’t sleep whole night! It’s absolutely not worth of the money!

Such a great hostel. Loads of different ages. Tons of common areas. Great bar and cafe but if you wanted a quiet space loads of that too. 3 minute walk to 3 different grocery stores and 10 minutes to 2 different underground stations. Super helpful staff and very clean. Highly recommend.

It was my first time staying at a hostel alone as a single woman so I was naturally a bit worried about who my roommates might be, but it was a great comfort to know the reception was running 24/7 so if there were any problems I’m sure they would’ve helped. Inevitably my roommates were friendly, quiet and kept our room clean, so I was very happy. It was such a great way to save money when visiting London, and it is so convenient to stay in Zone 1. The luggage storage facilities, cafe and bar were a nice touch too, but as I was in London for business I didn’t go down to the bar, but the daily events like pub quiz, comedy night etc. were attractive to me as a solo traveller, as theyre great ways to meet new people and make friends.
