I liked the Pilgrm hotel in concept, but the medium room should be called the Minuscule room. I did not have enough room to put my 20 lb. Luggage between the wall and the bed. The bathroom was cute and well appointed. There was no feasible plug to use the fan provided in the room. That was once we got to our room- first they refused to hold our luggage due to lack of space. I have NEVER heard of a hotel of that size making such a claim.
The man at check out was delightful. I appreciated his helpful and friendly nature. Check in- not so much. Why is a person sitting at a laptop and not able to check a guest in? They require tired travelers to pull out their phone, to self check in. I mean what is the point of a reception person if they refuse to do it. International travelers have to provide address, passport number and credit card even if the room was prepaid, and that information was on the reservation. When my credit card required a code that was being texted to my US number I couldn’t just back up to submit a different card, it cleared out everything I had already entered. At that point I got a condescending”I’ll print a piece of paper and you can do it old school”. This place is trying to hard to be something it is not.
