Bad experience
Stay away. Don't risk staying at this hotel you can get really disappointed. I travel a lot, I know some older hotels have different room types, but so far I've never left a hotel to find another one because I couldn't stay at the one I first booked. I was offered a five square meter room where I couldn't turn, with a window up at the ceiling towards a brick wall, an air conditioning that did not work well, a bed that the firmness went out of ten years ago. They offered me another room instead, where it was 40+ degrees and no air con. Not much larger. I couldn't accept. I asked to cancel my reservation (around 4 pm) which was of course too late, but at 70 pounds this was just ridiculous. On Hotels.com images and information about the hotel is not correct. Not even Hotels.com got to change their mind on a refund, which makes it really interesting. They got 70 pounds from me, and a person that will tell everyone who asks about my bad experience. What a good deal for them. I moved to the Best Western London Peckham which is a much better option at the price point. Don't think about it twice, in this area, The Best Western is a much safer choice, and it has a nice bar/restaurant and nice rooms. The staff probably got their hands tied, but wow selling that room to a guest should never be aloud. It should be used for storage. I thought I've seen everything when it comes to hotels. I hope I don't have to write another bad review on hotels.com, but this one could just not pass by.

Bra alternativ for reisende på stramt budsjett
Hotellet ligger litt utenfor det sentrale London, men når man har vært i London noen ganger så er det befriende å komme litt utenfor det sentrale området. Det er uansett meget god kommunikasjon til og fra bydelen Camberwell, og bussturen inn til f.eks. Viktoria tar rundt 20 min i off.peak tiden. I rushtiden var det greit og ta buss til Vauxhall og Tube derfra. Da unngår du de verste trafikk-korkene som bussene ofte må slite med i rush-tiden. Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt og enkelt i forhold til all kommunikasjon til/fra Camberwell. Det er også gangavstand (15-25 min) til populære bydeler som Peckham og Brixton. Kun en liten fin rusletur, eller 5-10 minutter med buss i ulike retninger. Hotellet i seg selv hadde veldig koselig og imøtekommende betjening. Det var en rolige atmosfære, selv om det var veldig lytt mellom rom/gang og rom/rom fra nabo-rommene. Dette oppleves likevel ikke som noe stort problem. Hotellet har fine fellesområder. Rommet var trangt, men det fungerte utmerket til det jeg brukte det til, - å sove! Jeg bodde 6 netter her og kommer gjerne tilbake ved en senere anledning.

Günstiges Hotel mit südamerikanischem Flair. Rustikal und sehr verschachtelt, aber mit Charme. Zimmer waren leider sehr beengt, man hatte kaum Platz für einen kleinen Trolley. Fenster zu einer anderen Hauswand. Nichts für Leute mit Platzangst. Für 1-2 Übernachtungen ok.

Reason to stay! was that my wife wants to be near K C HOSPITAL due to my hart surgery soon! So thought we try as i had a collection of appointments over night, we live on cost near Hythe. So we was rather daunted with thought of starting around Camberwell! BUT WAS DELIGHTED felt Safe! As it was very busy it was a Friday night stay! Lot's of places open! Also walking from the Hospital was comfortable felt Safe in many ways. The Hotel was very nice! But really noisy outside on that night, my wife has hearing aids so no problem.

Kitsch and unique in its way with a nice honesty bar. Bit noisy if your room is by the bar and there’s a late night booze up - but perfectly comfortable. Beware bath time - the shiny tiles on the floor are deadly.

First of all, it was a long ways downtown. The hotel was very hard to find, even for the taxi driver. The hotel did not have an elevator and we had to take four large suitcases up 3 flights of very narrow winding stairs. They had a breakfast room with continental breakfast items. This room is on the "honor" system, which someone had put items on our ticket that we did not order. The hotel did take it off. We tried to get to the tour station, but no one seemed to know how to get there. Gave us directions that lead us on a wild goose chase. It was not practical for what we came there to do. The area was run down, not what I expected of London.

Our room is cozy, spacious and clean! Beddings are clean and crispy. Mattress is so soft and comfy. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Hearty and nutritious breakfast available every morning. The location is convenient. 7 stops by bus 436 or 36 from tube station (Oval), with loads of great pubs and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Not quite noisy at night even we slept with the window open. Totally safe and chill to take a walk at night. Easy to get around by buses. Will definitely stay there again next time we visit London! (Do bring your own slippers and toothbrush though)

Quirky budget hotel really enjoyed our stay. Facilities were good decent shower comfortable bed but room could do with a makeover as the painted surfaces need redoing and mirrors. lighting and curtains need attention but would love to stay again especially if those issues were fixed.

Great location , helpful and professional staff. Everywhere lovely and clean . Single room very small but perfectly ok for a one night stay. Unfortunately my room smelt strongly of stale fried food which was unpleasant and took ages to lessen . No kettle in room (despite being listed) but they have a nice communal kitchen where you can make a drink , just not in your room.

I really like this hotel. The personnel are kind, the rooms are comfortable, and the stay is overall very pleasant. I particularly appreciate the free tea and coffee, as well as the DVDs to borrow. My only complaint would be that the windows are not very thick, so you can often hear everything going on at night (I would recommend bringing earplugs, especially if you are a light sleeper).

Swindlers! I booked and paid for a room with two beds (deluxe double) which clearly stated "two double beds" and even included a picture of two beds in the room. However when I arrived I was given a room with a single bed and I was informed that other than the "family room", the hotel does not have rooms with two beds. I was not offered any compensation or 'freebie' or other benefit. Banging doors, including at night, resonated very loudly in my room, while the noise from the busy high street right outside my bedroom was intolerable. The only thing going for this place that I noticed is a decent breakfast for only £8.

I would firstly like to point out that the room you had been located was a Deluxe King Ensuite, furnished with one king size bed (not a single as you have stated). I must also inform you that we had located you correctly as per the reservation we had received from the agency.To our horror we had discovered that room descriptions being listed on particular OTA'S was not of a true identity to the rooms we have at our property, some of which were offering an extra bed. I must clarify that was not in any way an error on our side and following this discovery I have spent a lot of time liaising back and fourth with partners to rectify these mistakes immediately. I can absolutely understand and relate to your frustrations here, if you believe you are paying for a particular facility you would of course expect to receive it. My team work incredibly very hard to ensure guest satisfaction so as I'm sure you could also understand our disappointment, errors such as these are very damaging to our brand and reputationI would like to mention that the price you had payed for your stay was correct in relation to the room you had occupied. (No overcharges there)I would strongly advise that you do follow this up with the correct party. Noisy but good WiFi
It's not a great hotel if you care about sleep, the rooms are noisy both due to being in front of a busy street and due to poor noise insulation that makes you hear other people in the hotel walking upstairs, talking etc. The ensuite deluxe room is relatively comfortable but I would just call it a basic room, it's deluxe only compared to the rest of the rooms. Try to check-in early because after some time I didn't see anyone in the reception. The WiFi was really good though.

Gorgeous hotel, beautiful place, very friendly staff and atmosphere, lots of stairs to climb, not disabled friendly, love the honesty bar , didn’t use it or see others use it as very expensive, I understand a profit is to be made but, dropping the prices a little wud see the stock getting used, rooms can get very warm, but with heaters and aircon units, you can get the temperature right yourself, leaving the window open results in no sleep with the amount of emergency vehicles going by, which is understandable being so close to kings college hospitals sirens going all night !..( thats not a complaint, but observation) but the amount of shouting and fighting outside hotel, which went on all night, I would deffo use again!

On arrival we were asked for a deposit, which there had been no mention of at the time of booking, also that it would be returned in 10 days. On been shown out room, we had booked the triple en suite, that was shown as available on Expedia, I was travelling with my 16 year old son, and we were told the triple room was not available, do I've spent 2 nights sharing a bed with him The room was clean, however no glasses or cups in the room. The TV did not work, it shows the channels but on reporting it to reception we were told when he came to sort it that it was the weather affecting it, however the leave a message note book in the. Room has entries where other guests have said the dame we were advised to choose a DVD to watch instead. The plug on the side of the bath, was in fact the plug for the sink, o had to go to reception to request that as no phones on the room. The pillows on the bed are actually cushion size fo difficult to get comfy. The air con didn't work, and the bathroom fan was very noisy. There were plus points, toiletries in bathroom l'Occtaine, the decor in the communal areas and the bathroom were lovely. The 3 staff I encountered were very friendly and polite. Given the location was just a couple of minuted walk to who we were visiting, would consider staying here again, it's on great public transport routes, lots of places to eat, shop and socialise, and for a last minute booking ok priced for a weekend in London. Check out is at 11, but place to leave bags.
