  • Enjoy a Cornwall retreat for two at The Shippon at Lestitha. Located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, the converted barn offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from your own (seasonal) private hot tub.



    All on one level, the Shippon is designed to take in the extensive views over the rolling countryside. The open plan space is a perfect for relaxing at the end of a busy day exploring, why not light the wood burner, or cosy up on the sofa with Freeview TV and DVD player. You’ll find a fully fitted kitchen, with all amenities needed for a self-catering stay including electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Enjoy a true Cornish cream tea provided on arrival.



    Leading from the kitchen area is the bedroom with comfortable king size bed and modern en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower.



    Take a dip in the hot tub, available for bookings between Easter and October Half Term, and delight in views of the rolling countryside. At night Bodmin Moor has been designated an International Dark Sky Landscape, where the sky is clear of artificial light and an amazing sight, perfect for stargazers and those with telescopes.



    Lestitha Farm is located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, conveniently just 5 minutes’ drive off the main A38 dual carriageway at Liskeard. The area has a wealth of ancient archaeological sites dating from the early bronze age onwards, popular with walkers and hikers. The coastal town of Looe just 20 minutes away with nearby beaches, independent stores, and plentiful ice cream shops! For four legged friends, the walking around Bodmin Moor is just superb!



    -This home is located all on the ground floor with plenty of space. The barn has extra wide internal doors (2ft 9). For wheelchair users the washbasin in the bathroom is hung off the wall.

    - Guests have use of the owner’s washer and dryer on request.

    -Up to two dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads at all times (small holding).

    -Travel cot and highchair available on request.

    -Private parking included for two vehicles.

    - Hot Tub available between Easter and October Half Term

Lovely Accommodation

This was our 3rd visit to The Shippon and nothing has changed, lovely comfortable accommodation very well equipped. Perfect location for a relaxing holiday exploring the area. Rita, Mark, the rest of their family and neighbours were all so friendly and helpful. Our puppy Alice had a fantastic time.

The Shippon made a great base for a week in Cornwall for myself, my wife and our dog. We were greeted with fresh scones and home made jam to help us settle in, the facilities were great and the location was perfect. Relaxing in the hot tub after a days walking on Bodmin Moor was bliss.

Lovely stay in Liskeard

Booked a little weekend getaway for me and my partner. Hot tub was brilliant, always warm and we were in it every day. The view from the cottage was amazing. Great place to stay to visit Golitha Falls Siblyback Lake and Minions. Loved watching all the furry friends going about their day to day-the chickens were hilarious Toilet seat doesn't quite fit-annoying to sit on!

A wonderful place to stay, comfortable, cosy and warm.

Rita's greeting set us off on the right foot and her directions helped us to come to terms with the country lanes and find more accessible roads. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to use the hot tub but the evenings under the stars were undescribable. Looking forward to being able to return in the summer time.

Home from home

The host was there to greet us and she left us some freshly made warm scones with jam and cream as well as milk so we could have a cuppa on arrival. The accommodation was very clean, airy and spacious. There is a hot tub that takes full advantage of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Plenty of utensils and great self catering set up - oven, microwave, toaster and fridge with small freezer section. There was also tea/coffee making facilities with tea bags/granulated coffee. Bed was really comfortable and bathroom had separate bath and shower. Reclining sofa and tv/dvd facilities. On site free parking next to accommodation. We prepared some meals ourselves but also ate out. Locally we had a meal at the London Inn and Jamaica Inn - both very good food and reasonably priced. Highly recommend booking Jamaica Inn as gets busy due to connections to Daphne Du Maurier's book of the same name and smuggling associations. There is a small museum on site exploring both and this can be visited for a small fee payable to the pub - booking not required. We booked a table and then visited the museum after eating. They also have a shop and farm shop. We also had a nice meal further a field in Mousehole (we had been to see a show at the Minack theatre) a short drive from Mousehole. We also visited Carnglaze Cavern, the Eden Project, the Lost Garden's of Heligan and Bodmin Jail where we did an after hours ghost walk (booking recommended). Nil that comes to mind - very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

All we can say is what a beautiful place to stay with wonderful views and that the people who owns The Shippon were amazing. They thought of everything that you would need with all the little necessities and also they added a nice touch where a cream scone was waiting for us when we arrived.
