Looking for someplace practically on the interstate that feels like the country, well here’s your nirvana. This place in North Platte Nebraska is an absolute gem. I can see why TripAdvisor gives it 4.6 out of 5 for places to camp in North Platte. When I think of blowing 4X as much $ on a cheap motel or spending an hour looking for BLM free land to camp for the night I am glad I have this relaxing time under my shady willow tree looking out over my picnic table to write this trove. i80lakesidecampground.com for anyone like myself who ‘car camps’ when on the I 80 which runs from California to New York. I can literally see the interstate from my makeshift bed in the back of my Jeep and for $17.10 it’s a beautiful bargain. Has a private lake, cute store with all kinds of tourist guides for the state (though I am only passing through) and ‘dispersed’ campsites that don’t have you listening to your neighbors conversations and it’s pet friendly. I can’t recommend it more highly.
