Mom & Dad`s Retreat - Downtown Historic Guesthouse

Welcome to Mom and Dad’s Retreat!  Location, location, location!  This historic one-level home is located in the heart of Leavenworth on Front Street just steps away from the action.

The true integrity of the era that this home was built in still shines through with its charming exterior, original wood shutters, stone fireplace, and warm wood paneling.  Pair these features with some modern amenities like the fully equipped kitchen, a big screen in the living room, and some plush seating to cuddle up in while reminiscing with your loved ones and this retro residence has it all! You’ll have your choice of three queen size bedrooms and there is a centrally located full bathroom for your group as well.

Picture driving into Leavenworth with its majestic mountains and crystal blue river, turning off of the highway, then pulling right into your reserved off-street parking space, and Voile, you’re here!  Once you’ve settled in, take a stroll to our wonderful local grocery store located just half a block away. Stocking up the refrigerator couldn’t be easier! Pop open an icy beverage and throw some brats on the gas grill in the backyard and your Bavarian vacation has officially begun!

Whether you are visiting Leavenworth to partake in a festival, shop, sight-see, dine or simply enjoy our gorgeous village this fabulous downtown home is a winning choice!

This home is located in downtown Leavenworth.

Special Features:

-Gas grill has propane provided.
-The fireplace is available for use from mid-October through the end of March (firewood not provided).
-DVD with Blueray.
-2 Refrigerators in the kitchen.

Please Note:

This older, well-loved home has a few areas in need of upgrading and the owners are working on items as time allows in between guests. Everything works fine throughout, but areas such as the bathroom do look and feel outdated. We currently offer it at a great value for its prime location because it`s a work in progress!

If you are planning to visit during the winter or summer months, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. The weather can be unpredictable during these seasons and we hold firm to our cancelation policy.

We had our family Thanksgiving early in Leavenworth with our family and pups. This home was great for our needs. The location was spectacular, and we appreciated the carport and side yard. The home was a little dated, some stains on the carpet, but it was clean, and that’s what is most important! There were a couple chairs at the main dining table that were pretty wobbly, so we only ate at that table once. Overall, we had all we needed, so we are quite happy with our selection! Thank you for the use of your getaway!

Location is unbeatable

The house has three spacious bedrooms all with split AC systems and one bathroom. All of the furniture throughout the house is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped if you're cooking. The house is in downtown Leavenworth so you don't have to drive at all.

Fun Trip

Overall this property location is amazing. Very short walk to downtown and in a nice and safe area. The house does need a lot of updating - allergies were bad for all of us that stayed there. There was also an ant problem in the kitchen. It's just a very old home, but with some modernization and updates it would be amazing with the location! Communication with the owner was great as well!

Great location and pet friendly

We very much enjoyed our stay. You can't beat the location for pet friendly accommodations. The home is older, yet cozy and comfortable. The yard has grass, but needs basic upkeep and mowing. We definitely would stay again.

Unmown grass, a partially knocked down fence, and a slow draining bathroom sink were offset by the good location. The dishwasher didn’t work and by the end of our second day the bathroom sink wasn’t draining at all. It could be a good place to stay, if someone kept it up.

The property was a great location and a cozy stay! The single bathroom was not as big of an issue as we had thought it would be. The cleanliness could have been improved—some dishes were caked with food in the drawers and the hard wood floors had some trash and debris upon arrival. The bathtub instantly has water pooling when the shower is turned on. All theses were minor inconveniences in an otherwise great stay! The love Leavenworth team was always helpful and available to contact if needed. The house was a great get away for our group! Thank you!

Location is awesome, property needs work

Can’t beat the location. quiet neighborhood and great proximity to downtown. The house was very clean and set up well for meals cooked in the kitchen. Rooms and beds were comfortable and as-described. We probably won’t be staying here again though. With abnormally low temperatures, the cold air was pouring through the front door with daylight being seen all around the edge. Took 48 hours to warm the house up with the small heaters in each room. This issue was already pointed out in previous reviews and could be solved fairly easily. Same with the abandoned toilet by the back door. Watching a movie wearing coats and scarves was not ideal considering how expensive this place is per night.

Amazing location, comfortable house

My family of 6 had a great stay at Mom and Dad's retreat. The location is the absolute best for spending time in Leavenworth. The house is aptly named, and definitely conjures memories of my parents' house - it's cozy and warm, and charmingly outdated. This house isn't fancy, but it's clean, comfortable, and was the pefect base for our adventures in the Leavenworth area.

It's simply old

I have no complaint with the management group, but the description of this home is misleading. There's "old and quaint" and then there's just "old". This place is simply old. What pictures cannot convey are things like the lack of insulation and e.g., weather stripping around the front door - I could literally see daylight coming in at all points around the door. The impact of this is that even though they've put heating/ac units in each room, the house is truly freezing in many areas - including the bathroom and the kitchen. The house is so thin walled that the rental management company provides ear plugs on all of the beds with the clean towels as a way to make up for it. The home smelled of mothballs when we arrived to the extent that we needed to buy scented candles to mitigate. Yes, it's a flashback odor that can remind you of your grandparents ... but not great for a rental house. The neighborhood is also quite trashy ... the three neighbors south of the property on 12th Street are literally junkyard homes. The grounds of the house are not well cared for and are not "charming" - the fence is literally falling down and there was an old toilet in the carport when we arrived. There is not parking for 3 cars as advertised unless you pull one up on the lawn beside the carport. All of which is to say ... if we're being TOTALLY honest about what a 5 star place is versus any other home you would call 5 stars ... there's no way this is a 5 star home and that's why I rated it 3 stars. It was clean, it was located conveniently to the town and we had no problem checking in or communicating ... but it's not a great rental even for the "low price" they claim to charge.

Vintage Charm in the heart of Leavensworth

Mom and Dad's retreat is exactly as described. It felt just like going to visit Grandma and Grandpa. You know the feeling of familiarity, warmth and welcoming, and all the vintage charm throughout the home. But unlike staying at Grandma and Grandpa's back in the day, the beds we comfortable so we arose each morning feeling perfectly rested. Admittedly the home being dated does mean you may encounter a few (let's call them) quirks vs staying at a newer/boring/modern home but they are non-issues. The location really cannot be beat! Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and just a short drive to the orchards and vineyards. Must not forget to mention they were one of the most pet-friendly rentals we have ever stayed at. They didn't have all the normal over-the-top conditions and overly strict rules meaning it was truly pet-friendly making our trip more enjoyable. I think I can speak for my whole family, that our next visit to Leavenworth will definitely include booking Mom and Dad's retreat again.

So convenient!

The best thing about this property is the location. It is fantastic. Love Leavenworth property management is right across the street should you need anything. Dan's Market is a short walk around the corner. Downtown shops are a couple of blocks away. It's an old home that needs a remodel but all appliances are newer and work well. The mattress in the room we used was fabulous -- nice and firm. It's an older comfy home so set your expectations and enjoy walking everywhere! The Riverwalk could not be more convenient than from this property!
