Excellent property in a great location and resort. It was perfect for 3 couples. We especially enjoyed the expansive lanai with high end grill! Sunsets were also amazing from the lanai.

Amazing location and great accommodations

This property was everything it boasts about. We had two families stay here and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The place was beautiful, right above Dukes, and with an abundance of activities around it. We hit all the spots and even enjoyed the food trucks next door one night. The grocery store was walking distance as well. All in all no complaints! Easy in, enjoyable stay, easy out! Winning location and spot for the right occasion!

Amazing views!

We had a wonderful stay in this unit. The views are amazing and the resort amenities were great. We loved watching the whales from the porch and each sunset was more beautiful than the last. Property is well-equipped (thank you for the beach chairs!) and very comfortable.

Perfect getaway, no stress

From the moment we opened the door to the time when we had to remove our wristbands, it was a magical vacation. The unit was the best from coffee on our lanai to pictures of amazing sunsets, it was so great. We hope to come back and will be staying in this great unit:)

Great vacation

The property was beautiful and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a 10 night stay and it was disappointing to have to pay for a towel refresh. I would think that new towels should have been provided after a week or halfway through our stay. Also we couldn’t use the TV in the master bedroom. Neither remote worked so the only way to turn it on was to do it manually, but couldn’t change channels. The management company was very responsive and brought us a baby booster seat and had a pack n play ready for us in the unit. It was the best location with a beautiful view! I would stay here again!!

Spectacular stay

Our group of six adults could not have been happier with this property. It had all of the amenities promised and the view from the lanai along with its roominess were perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and we did cook a few meals in it. Large bedrooms and baths were perfect. The property was clean and there was more than enough to do while on site with all of the pools, hot tubs, Dukes and the beach. The only issue we had was there were not enough electronic keys for our whole group at check-in but that was taken care of pretty quickly. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Condo!

My family of six adults (mom, dad, 2 adult children and spouses) had a wonderful six nights in this Maui condo. The furnishings and decor are on par with a luxury hotel. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. The ocean view is amazing. The entire process of booking, check-in and check-out couldn’t have been more easy. One of the toilets was inoperable the first night we were there (the engineering was in the room trying to fix it when we arrived), but was repaired promptly the next day. My entire family would highly recommend this condo, and if we go to Kaanapali again, we would love to stay there!

Fantastic experience. A few small blips but all handled quickly and efficiently. Maid tried to kick us out at 10 but 11am was check out. But she waited for 11. So lovely. I highly recommend.

Do Not Stay Here!

Honua Kai is a lovely property with plenty of VRBO rentals available - DO NOT STAY AT THIS ONE. The property manager, Scott, and management company, Maui Life Realty, are horrible. Our flight was 3 hours delayed so we arrived at Honua Kai at 11pm local time. The front desk didn't have our keys and asked us to call the property manager. We called all THREE emergency contact numbers listed in the instruction email for check in assistance and no one answered or called us back. After roaming the property for an hour, we found a security guard who was able to locate the keys for us to finally get us into our room. There is no instruction booklet in the room with WIFI information (also not in the check-in email). So the next day I attempted to call someone at Maui Realty to get WIFI. I was on hold for 20 minutes and then sent to voicemail (again). At this point I found a different phone number in an email they had sent that I called. This person, Steve, immediately called me back. He is the previous owner of the unit and his number was left in the email by mistake. Steve told me that he knows Scott and is not surprised that we have had a such a terrible experience thus far. He promised to get me the WIFI information. At this point Scott Jordan sent me an email (no phone call) with the WIFI info saying the welcome booklet has gone missing. He also claimed that he didn't have any missed calls from me the night before so I sent him a screen shot of the 3 numbers I tried. I told him we were really disappointed in our stay (check-in, black hairs on the linens) and he did nothing. Not even a phone call. At the end of our stay, the previous owner Steve actually called me to apologize for how badly things were managed. I told him I would like to talk to Scott about our experience and Scott has still not returned my call. I am also an owner and property manager of a vacation rental. I understand that things don't always go smooth and guests can be unhappy, but I respond to my guests immediately. I am always thorough and generous with my solutions to their problems. For the amount of money per night this condo charges, this should be the minimum expectation from their guests.

Maui is Perfect!

Our 3-bedroom VRBO condo, 929 Konea, in Honua Kai Resort & Spa, was perfect. The owners provided virtually everything we could have asked for to make for a perfect stay. Our unit, on the 9th floor, looked straight out over the resort grounds and our view continued to the beach and ocean. Each of the three bedrooms had that view, and the master bedroom opened onto the very spacious lanai. The lanai was also accessible from the living room of the condo. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai every day before moving on to nearby snorkeling, land excursions, and more. We'll be back, and will certainly consider Honua Kai Resort & Spa in our planning. Things to consider as you plan: (1) Shop for groceries near the airport when you arrive--Costco, Whole Foods--as there is less availability closer to the resort. (2) The Snorkel Store rents state-of-the-art equipment for 10-day periods. We got our money's worth and more. (3) Road to Hana is an all-day commitment. Plan ahead so you're not driving back to the resort on the curving one-lane roads in the dark. (4) Resort/condo check-out time is 11 am. Our flight to the mainland didn't leave until 9:30 pm. Plan accordingly. We asked the resort and the rental managers about day rooms and found none. We simply carried all our luggage with us on a last day of adventures, but you might want to book an extra night (and only use part of it) or explore other options. (5) We rented a hybrid car from a local agency--Bio-Beetle ECO Rental Cars--and not only reduced our carbon footprint, we go a better deal than through conventional car rental agencies that offered NO electric or hybrid vehicles.

Moore Stay

Was just a little disappointed with a couple of things. The outside table had dried food on it and the bed in the master bedroom was not not made. The floor in the master bedroom was very dirty. Otherwise we had a great stay and a wonderful time. Beautiful room

A beautiful Hawaiian stay

We loved this property! The view was amazing… a straight look out to the beautiful Hawaiian ocean. The house was spacious and nicely decorated and with great appliances. The beds were comfortable. We were a family of 7 and fit comfortably. Communication with the owners was easy and they were helpful! Overall… all great!

Spectacular Condo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Konea 929. The accommodations, amenities, and the view were all outstanding. We enjoyed family time lounging on the lanai, and were close to all the resort had to offer. The boardwalk/beachwalk was an extra hit for us. We highly recommend this condo and will look to stay here again if we return in the future.

A fabulous and memorable stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at Honua Kai Resort. Our condo was on the ninth floor. Each morning we would sit out on the lanai with our coffee and simply soak up the incredible view. We saw a ton of whales, which was an added bonus. The lanai was spacious enough for all six of us to sit out there together. We even enjoyed a couple of meals outside. The accommodations are perfect! Better than the photos suggest. Very clean and stylish. And furnished with everything we could want. The beds are extremely comfortable, so we all slept great. We hope to go back to Maui soon, and if we do, would definitely try to stay here again.
