«What a terrific spot! The bar was comfy, and cosy; the room clean, and tastefully decorated with a comfy bed, and wonderful view of the viaduct and Whernside. And, the fish & chips - exceptional! For us, the staff made our stay, Will, Courtney, Angela, & Val, couldn't do enough for us, despite a very busy bank holiday weekend. Thank you, we had a great evening and a cracking breakfast to boot.»

«Used for 14 guests, rooms and showers very clean, kitchen not the cleanest but was ok, some of the cookware in need of replacement, tho the spacing of the 3 cookers bemused me, (I did over 3 miles in the kitchen alone on the Saturday). The pool table was a bit of a disappointment, cues with no tips and very dirty cloth, maybe worth getting new cloth and then charging for damage, as easy to spot. Luckily weather was great so we sat outside, but would have been nice to have a tournament. Overall ...

«Only had a short stay at this lovely little place Staff very chatty/friendly Had minor issue which was dealt with promptly and without any question or fuss The breakfast choices were very good and cooked as you asked for it .. not just your average semi warm buffet, cooked fresh The restaurant food was also very good with plenty of choices Our bathroom was in need of some TLC but is due for upgrade - did not affect there was plenty of hot water, clean towels daily and lovely soaps etc already ...

«The Red Dragon is advertised as "Has Onsite parking Very Rare for location. That was the reason we booked it. When we arrived we discovered it has zero parking. The manager and staff apologised and advised where we should park. the town is short of longterm parking. We ended up spening a lot of time driving around and paying a lot for overnight parking. The rooms are fine. the breakfast very good, the Staff friendly and helpful»

«Friendly staff including one who formerly and by sheer coincidence worked at the good old boarding school I proudly attended years ago. Overall, I’m extremely impressed with everything including the high standards location and amenities. Cleanliness were very good apart from some surfaces needed a little dusting and one of the bedroom lamps didn’t work though again, overall the standards are extremely high and I’d certainly recommend future guests and I’d certainly return.»
