Enjoy a family-friendly holiday on the Devon/Cornwall border at Oak Cottage, a charming converted 17th-century barn and piggery set within almost 12 acres of gardens, woodland and farmland leading down to the River Tamar. Guests can also add a private hot tub to their stay (extra charges apply).
Oak Cottage is a self-contained three-bedroom cottage at the entrance to the smallholding. It sleeps up to five guests in one double bedroom, one single bedroom and one bunk room. Fresh white bed linen and soft towels are provided, with extra towels and large bath sheets available to hire. There is space for a travel cot in any bedroom on request.
The open-plan living area combines lounge, dining space and kitchen. The well-equipped kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, plus cookware and utensils. In the lounge you will find a wall-mounted smart TV, DVD player and real log burner. A starter basket of logs, cosy blankets, books, games and puzzles are provided.
The skylight bathroom offers a full-sized bath with overhead rainfall shower, Faith in Nature body wash and Cole and Lewis shampoo and conditioner. Wi‑Fi, electricity and off-road parking for one car are included. An EV charger is available on request at an additional cost. Tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate sachets, basic condiments and Baylis & Harding hand wash are supplied.
Outside, Oak Cottage has a private, enclosed area with picnic bench, BBQ and its own hot tub. Hot tub hire is an optional extra and not included in the nightly rate; it is charged at GBP 30 per day, with a minimum of GBP 75 per stay, and must be pre-booked (subject to availability). Guests can also use a shared heated pool (5 m x 1.1 m) from April to October (weather dependent), which can be hired for private use at GBP 15 per hour.
On site there is an apple orchard, children’s play area, farm animals and quiet seating areas. Guests can walk through the orchard to the River Tamar for riverside walks and fishing.
