«We love our stay in the Sunset Suite at Blue Heron Retreat. The setting over the lake is beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub and the kayaks, and maybe most of all just watching the sunrise over the lake. Everything was very clean and we loved the extra touches like fresh flowers and lavender. We came to the area to Ike the Dragon Trail and are thrilled to have found such a great place to stay. We will be back!»

The building is very secure, which was also nice. We all felt the unit could use ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room, as well as exhaust fans in the bathrooms. Aside from that no compliants. «When I checked in - luckily I had a friend with me … Door 5 is in the shadows - and the only room in the building with a step in front of the door… it is the same color as the flooring and wall and I tripped on it and fell … never saw it and landed hard with a bag in my hand. «What a hidden gem we found! We had family camping at the state park and this was perfect as it was just minutes from where they were. This is truly a glamping experience with 7 little cabins nestled in the woods, down a long dirt road. Surrounded by shade and trees and the stairs down to the beach are steps away. The back fire pit behind each cabin is so nice and we enjoyed it every night. Truly a perfect little getaway for our family and will likely make this a yearly tradition! »

«My wife and daughter wanted to see the beach and hit some shops. Quick 40 minute drive and they were happy! My son and I wanted to try trout fishing. Walk out the back door and we caught some trout and a nice king. There is NO cell service (AT&T) or wifi but, thanks to the HUGE DVD collection at the house and some games we brought from home, everyone was happy and entertained!
