God service fra personalet, frokosten var bra med lokal mat. Manglet litt på frokosten for barn. Rent og fint rom, gode senger, en løs flis på gulvet. Om du ønsker å gå fra Hatfield jernbanestasjon er det ca 40 minuter.

Topp beliggenhet
Jeg hadde 4 herlige dager på Mercure Hatfield Oak. Topp beliggenhet i forhold til Hertfordshire til universitet. Enkelt å ta seg dit med taxi til en rimelig pris. Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening som tok seg av det meste. Det er et koselig og trivelig hotell med gode senger og topp service. Frokosten var herlig og det samme kan man si om lunsj og middagen. Ti minutter med taxi til Welwyn Garden city. En sjarmerende lite by med gode shopping muligheter. Gode kommunikasjonsmuligheter til London King Cross. Kommer snart tilbake.

Til å være et 3stjerners hotell er vi veldig fornøyde med standarden og personalets service var ypperlig. Anbefales!

Hvis du liker å dusje, ikke reis hit
Hatfield Oak Hotel har en fin beliggenhet, i gangavstand til College Lane campus, og 10 min gange til Galleria. Men det ligger rett ved motorveien, så er endel trafikkstøy. Du deler vanntank med naborommet, så det å få en dusj med varmtvann, eller vann i det hele tatt, er ikke alltid en selvfølge. Frokosten er stakkarslig og ikke verdt pengene, gå heller bort til Costa Coffee og spis frokost der, det ligger på Galleria. Men Hatfield Oak Hotel skal ha en ting, de har veldig behagelige senger, så hvis du ikke har noen problemer med trafikkstøy har du mulighet til å sove godt her.

Tired, Dated and not not spotless
The hotel is very tired and really needs a refresh. Cleaning was also not great. I had lots of long thick dark hairs on my bathroom floor on my visit.

Decent stay for three star hotel but the bathroom heater wasn’t on when I went into the room and the temperature was in the minus,bathroom door was also damaged..No draught beer on sale at the bar,no butter or sugar at breakfast..One night only..it was ok

Very chaotic. Receptionist was smiling and helpful, despite clearly having to put up with a total mess backstage. Duty manager was neither on duty nor even onsite or anywhere nearby. Computer had gone down on check in, and they could not program the room keys without it, so all that happened was the queue got longer and longer as no-one could get to their rooms. No sign of a backup plan, either. It's an old tired hotel, smeggy corridors and dilapidated fittings in many places. My room was not too bad - nice new-looking bathroom and comfortable bed. But seriously loud sucking and blowing noises from the sewage pipes every time another room flushed their toilet, enough to wake me several times in the night. Finally after checking out and leaving, they called me to try to claim I'd eaten in the restaurant. Firstly why did this not show when I was checking out? And secondly, I hadn't eaten there, so what was going on? Faulty computer system again? It was a shambles - I'd have to be feeling desperate before going there again.

Nobody informed regular hotel guests that a giant party was going to be happening during our stay. The regular food and bar service was closed to regular guests unannounced. The party guests were loud, belligerent, and drunk because they were over served. There were multiple under-aged kids drinking alcohol in the lobby. The noise level made it impossible to rest or even just simply enjoy watching television. They are understaffed to handle that many people and their staff is untrained in dealing with a large intoxicated crowd. When I tried to address the issue with the staff they appeared frightened, confused, and unable to address the drunkenness going on. Some of the party guests became rude and threatening. We had to lock ourselves in our room afraid to venture into the hallways or lobby due to this loud, drunken, abusive, and threatening group of out of control partiers.

Confusion at checkout, otherwise good.
Had a perfectly pleasant stay, but this was marred by the experience during and after checkout. I had ordered drinks at the bar, and also some food on the evening of my stay, and had these charged to the room. On checkout, I was only charged for the drinks, and I mentioned that I had also had some food items to pay for. I was told by the reception staff on duty that those items weren't on the system, and as the service during my stay "hadn't been very good" (their words, not mine. I was happy with the service!), those items would not be charged to my card. I paid for the drinks, checked out, and went about my day. About two hours later I git a call from the hotel, and was told that I would have to pay for the food items. I told them that I had been told that there would be no charge for these, as that is what I was told when I checked out. I repeated this information twice more, and the call ended. Ten minutes later, the same person called again, and we had the same conversation. I was not happy about this at all, and ended the call after again explaining the situation. I have not heard back since, but I have not been left with a very positive experience of this hotel.

Never Again
Started with over a 5 minute wait before someone appeared to check us in, went up to room which was like an oven as there was no AC and the windows were closed. Went into the bathroom and lifted the toilet seat which promptly fell on the floor, I had to secure the 'bolts' back in. The bathroom had an odd assortment of three different types of shampoo but nothing else apart from 2 plastic cups (see photo). Their was coffee and a couple of different types of tea bags, but no biscuits and we had to sleep with the window open which was very noisy due to the traffic on the A1M. Breakfast was chaos, waiting around for food/coffee/juice to come out to the buffet, I felt sorry for the two ladies working their as they were totally rushed off their feet and really doing their best, in fact the hotel should be grateful to them for their efforts. When we left the hotel there was no one at the desk again to mention all of this and so we simply left the keys on the counter. The whole experience was bad from start to finish and we will certainly not be staying there again nor recommending it to friends.

Room very basic, bed felt small but was comfortable. Nice and clean. Hand basin tap can only be used on low as it was too powerful for the small sink and flooded. The night we stayed was particularly hot. No air con in rooms and no fans available, that made for a bad nights Sleep.

Missing Shower
I booked this room for a colleague attending an important meeting the following day. The reviews were good and images were equallyvas goid so felt like a good choice. I was majorly disappointed and embarrassed to find out that there was no shower in the room as it had been taken away along with the shower screen. Having checked in kate due to travelling my colleague raised the concern butbwas told there was nothing that could be done as there were no spare rooms. A room the following morning was made available for a shower. I find this really disappointing, if id booked a budget hotel id expect a lesser standard. I think the fairest solution to be a full refund from the hotel. I await your response.
