«Location was everything about the empress. Great food at the hotel and near with walkable access to the heart of Victoria. Highly recommend renting a car as a lot of cool castles and beaches are close drives away. The garden was fantastic and live music and salmon at the hotel restaurant was great .»

«The guy on reception was very helpful and allowed us to move rooms as the first one was very dark and had a strange aroma. Our second room was lighter and spacious but sadly the aircon unit tripped the lights and sockets. Breakfast was not the best and only had frozen gluten free bread as a gluten free option. I can understand why some people like it, but we wouldn’t book again.»

«Check-in staff was very welcoming and the stay included a gift of chocolates and one of their brews. Complimentary parking and easy access to walking trails is a huge plus. Room is located in a heritage house. Our room was on the main floor and sound does travel from hallways and upper floors, but it did not affect our enjoyment. The bed was quite comfortable and room was clean. It would have been nice to have an electrical outlet in the bathroom, or a mirror in the main room near an outlet. A ...

«The Red Lion is a consistent, clean, and affordable stay, but don’t expect luxury. A nice treat was the V-Lounge bar with lots of pool tables and cheap drinks. The Jade Fountain offers tasty and authentic Chinese food. The “balcony” of our upgraded room was subterranean and had unsightly exposed ductwork, loose pipes lying around, and a random barrel of sand lol.»
