«Howie & Karen were tremendous hosts and made my family and I feel extremely welcomed! They were even super cool with accomadating last minute changes to my booking. My two boys had a blast and they were surprised with an amazing breakfast the morning after! We enjoyed our time so much that we’re planning to re-book for next year around the same time! «This property is under new owners and, athough the service was very good, the upkeep and quality of the breakfast was not at the level of the previous owners. The 3 guys who remodeled and redesigned the property gave excellent service and a breakfast that was second to none!»

«Staff were so helpful and accommodating. The property had so much charm and very inviting. The bed was comfortable. Had everything I needed. The soaps and coffees were local and added a nice touch.»

«The room was clean and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful, even though we couldn't get the T.V. to work, (we are not at all technical). Big bonus being dog friendly. The free breakfast was really nice with waffles, sausages, eggs, muffins and yogurt. And we had an upgrade to a king size bed! We will definately recoment THe Waddling Dog, and we will be back!»

«Very accommodating to early check in request. A very cosy little cottage just a tiny bit on the small side. Two suitcases - not a lot of space to have them both open. Very clean, great area - peaceful and beautiful grounds - views were lovely. Would def stay there again if in Victoria. Was not able to take advantage of the breakfast unfortunately, but the menu looked delicious!»

«Tastefully designed and decorated, and spacious, room with a lovely view over the Sidney Pier. Top notch staff. Excellent 10 Acres cafe right in the building. Highly recommended.»

«The windows in our room were so dirty that it was hard to see the view. The rug was thread bear and had a hole that had been poorly repaired with the rug pad showing through . The gardens may have been lovely in years gone by but clearly aren’t getting any attention now. For almost $400 Canadian/ night I would expect more attention to detail and care for this beautiful old home. I won’t return»

«The Amethyst is a very charming historical building. It is very cozy, clean and the three course breakfast that is provided daily is outstanding. The friendly Staff are very accommodating. The Inn, overall is great.»
